$2000 is a number out of thin air, there are no comparable Scion accessory numbers to compare to currently.

I think a lot of people hate the Scion brand with this particular car, because they saw the GT-86, wanted a GT-86' and got stuck with the Kmart brand..Scion.

I could be wrong....

Let's not forget Scion offers 2 year maintenance included, I am willing to sacrifice the BRZ headlights (which is the ONLY reason I would prefer the BRZ) over the savings of no maintenance over 2years/25k miles, and a lower price overall. Also, in my case I have more selection of Toyota dealers than I do for subaru.

Regardless of what car I pick I am still going to haggle the deal. I want a damn spoiler on the FR-S.

Also, I think whichever car I get I will probably de-badge it, no scion no subaru, at least in the outside...

Houston auto show only had the FR-S concept, and I was out of town when the subie came through the dealerships

2k is too high, but the Bespoke system is just under $900 I believe (based on current premium sound system pricing for a TC) but that does use nav from a smartphone only IIRC. There are non-smartphone users out there but I'm not sure how many would be buying these cars

I think after looking at both materials AND given the fact the the seats are more expensive, it is safe to assume that the higher end material is in fact higher end. You can act like its an unknown and that is fine, but I think most of the evidence points to it being a step up.

So is Ferrari a Fiat? Is a Lambo a VW? I know what you guys are saying, but to some of the hard core Toyota motorsport fans, they see Scion as a cop out on Toyota's part. It would be like Ford Motor Company bringing the Mustang out under Lincoln (or Mercury when that was still around). Something just doesn't jive with that, even if it is still the "same" company. Each car brand/division/subsidiary has a different flavor to it. To some, the Scion flavor is revolting compared to Toyota's.

Been saying this all along. That's why I've been saying release the Toyota version alongside the Scion and Subaru. That way we each get our brand that we're loyal to. Keep the Scion and Subaru the way they are, make the Toyota the high end spec only so Scion has it's ground.

Dealers obviously don't care what car you buy, I went into my local Scion dealer with my complaints and want of the Toyota. They told me to go get the Subaru. I told them no, I'm a Toyota guy. Not Scion, not Subaru. Toyota. So if they don't care what version we buy, then make 'em all.

Well considering how I finally succumbed to getting a smartphone last year, I almost made it haha...

The Ferrari/Lambo ones don't hold water IMO. Buying a company is different from STARTING a new company under your parent.

I definately think this car should have been a GT86 with a Toyota badge for historical reasons (like the mustang example) though.

www.scion.com

Go build a TC and add navigation. Their option is 2k.

Factory navigation is a joke anyway. I don't know why EITHER party would try to pimp that like it's amazing. I have an iOS device that will already be supplying the music for my stereo, and also the navigation for my car. So why would I want to shell out an extra lump of cash for some shitty nav that will never really be updated the way I can update an iOS/Android app? Or even try a new one if I don't like what I have.

The rest of this post is rant at the rest of this thread, not directed at you:

Most of the posts in this thread are EXTREMELY superficial, and are just people trying to justify a large sum of cash being spent. Knock that shit off. Stop trying to compare how large your e-penis is. Both cars are going to be amazing. Both looks exceptional for the price that is being asked of them. Both cars are going to be game changers. It's a unified platform. You're going to see MORE FR-S's being driven by actual motorsports enthusiasts since they can get more bang for their buck since they'll be replacing parts for upgraded ones. On top of Scion offering more total units for sale than Subaru. (My guess based on what I'm seeing)

This car is built for driving, and those that buy it will love driving it. I went with Scion because it's "THE SAME FUCKING CAR" only I'm paying less. So I can use that money for parts that I'm going to put on the car. Oh the Subaru understeers more? That won't matter anyway because if you really care about the performance you're gonna tune your suspension anyway. I'm personally planning to buy a rather expensive set of coil overs within 6 months so I can dial the suspension to exactly where I want it to be when I want it to be there. So if I got the BRZ that understeer wouldn't exist since I'm going to adjust anyway.

Stop bickering and trying to compare **** sizes. Just buy your car, love the shit out of it, and then when us FR-S drivers pass you BRZ drivers we'll all wave and know we all are part of some exclusive club of people that go in early on a game changing automotive platform.
