For sure. I had an SUV start to back into me slowly while standing in parking lot traffic, had to honk before they realized I was behind them.

To their further discredit, there was plenty of traffic in that lot, so even if they didn't see me, I'm not sure at all why they'd start backing out when there are other visible cars moving around within hitting distance.

I plowed a hay bail on the interstate doing 80 mph. First time for me in a car. Just doesn't equate to your situation. Only 2 days go by....sheesh.

I understand vans and bigger trucks but I feel like nobody actually turns their head and looks through their back window while backing up. I watch so many people only use their mirrors and its kind dumb...I guess they think they can just wing it every time.

Most large SUV/pickup drivers think they are invincible, so they mostly just don't bother looking thoroughly before changing direction.

If I ever win the powerball, I'm gonna buy an F650 conversion and "accidentally" drift into the lanes of regular SUVs to see how they like it for a change.

Everybody is too busy talking or texting on their phones to notice what is around them while driving. It is so inconvenient to have to pay attention!

A Dumb lady did the exact same thing to me the 2nd week after i got my car!! Her dumbass backed into me at the mall parking lot but whoever I let it go since she looked broke and her daughter was with her all scared. Also it won't matter since in getting the v2 rocket bunny kit and the factory bumper with come off anyway btw you can't tell I was hit but I know since there's a small line on the from bumper.

Yeah you'd think people would be extra cautious and do more than just quickly glance at their mirrors before backing up. Especially because we were in a very tight parking lot, not to mention a private school parking lot with young children all over. I saw her coming hit my brakes slammed on my horn but she didn't even hear me, guess it was more important to have her radio turned up.

I'll post pics in a bit. Damage is kind of hard to see in them though. You honestly couldn't even notice I was hit unless you looked directly at the spot in the bumper where the scratch is. But then you'd see the dents and how the fender is off alignment.

At least it's small cosmetic damage and it's only a 3-day turnaround. Could have been a LOT worse. Some horror stories go on about being in the body shop for months.

I was sitting in my buddy's red MR2 in a left-turn lane and he was explaining that he'd been hit twice so far because his car was so low. And then a gal hit us from behind.

A guy in a Volvo XC90 backed into my 86 in a garage. Had the front bumper and right headlight, turn signal and fog light replaced. His insurance covered it plus a rental while my car was in the shop.
These things happens all the time, nothing to get all worked up about as long as no one gets hurt.

7 days.

I came out to the parking lot and almost had a heart attack. The dealership fixed it up nicely. New bumper, new headlight, new fender, new side marker light. Blended the paint into the door. Re-painted pinstripe matches perfectly. You can't even tell.
