I was thinking of doing a vinyl graphic on the side for now. Not sure - i will try a darker red mock up too.

I've decided to leave the door swipe as "track rash" for now - it's amazing that as bad as if is, it's hard to see unless your 2 feet in front of it.
I'm going to hunt down a whiteout door shell in the future and replace it.
If anyone knows hears or sees one in good condition, let me know!

My car picked up a random dent in the center of the hood. Maybe from hail last week, but seems weird to just have the one. No paint chipping so I'm going to have it popped out when I take it in for service, but it's driving me crazy right now, especially since I can't figure out what caused it.

This happened to my baby with just under 600 miles on the clock. Have no idea where it happened since i didnt notice it till the next day. Friggin rain.

Bodyshop repaired the fender but i wasnt happy with the work so now they're replacing the fender altogether and blending into the door. Paint matches nicely tho.

No pics right now, but my entire front lip is thrashed. Probably just gonna throw touchup paint on to cover the worst parts, and then install the STi front lip to hide everything and keep it from happening any more. :P

Where/How much was the fix if you don't mind me asking? I have nearly identical damage in the same spot + bumper

Parking blocks mostly. One was at my local Wendy's, it was just a shade taller than I thought, so one of the little pointy bits on the front lip smashed right into it. Looks like Rollie's booboo earlier on this page.

The other is a rectangular patch on the left side of the lip, whole section of paint about 2" by 1" got scraped off by a curb, all the way down to the plastic. Happened in my local Safeway parking lot. Misjudged my angle into the spot and hit the curb on the left side as I was pulling in.

Oh, and there's the paint spidering from when my lip got stuck on a parking block. Local Radio Shack parking lot. Parking block had a bit of rebar sticking out of the top of it. Pulled in, didn't notice anything. Went to leave, put the car in reverse, gave it a little gas, and didn't move. Finally figured out I had just barely gone far enough forward that the lip got caught up on the rebar, and I couldn't reverse because I was basically stuck.

Managed to get out of it by putting the car in neutral, no parking brake, and lifting the front of the car while pushing at the same time. Once I was free, I had to haul ass around to the driver's side and hit the brakes before I rolled across the entire parking lot.

The insurance quote was $1100 to repair the bumper, replace the fender and blend the bumper, hood, and front door.
The shop that did the work is a local shop i've used before for a couple fairly big jobs that insurance covered.
Since i was paying out of pocket (damn $1000 deductible) he hooked it up for $700.
Since i wasn't happy hes got a new subaru fender and doing the work needed including blending the door for an extra $100.
He's also replacing both bumper clips at my request to keep the lines crisp.

Side note: stopped by to see the progress today, they've got the fender edged and mounted. Painted it today and im getting it back either tomorrow night or Saturday morning.

I feel like a broken record in this thread. My last post was about a neighbor running into me. It happened again today. Neighbor backed into my car. Rear bumper will need new paint and a new black area. (is that considered a "valence" or whatever?) Waiting on the Insurance company to get back to me so I can take it to my body shop guy.

Damn, I was hoping to never be a part of this thread!

She cut this little curve and came over the line as I was backing up. Thankfully, it was mostly cosmetic….still a crappy situation, but almost over. Should have the car back tomorrow or tuesday.

Yeah, we need to ALWAYS be aware of how low our car sits, even at stock height. You just can't park all the way up and over the curb stops like you can with other cars.

Fortunately, our cars are not particularly long. In most parking lots, you can safely park several inches from the front of the parking spot and still not really have your back side out past the end of the spot.

If you are slamming your front end against/over the parking curb stops often, then you just aren't paying enough attention.

I was fine until I lowered by 3/4". That'll teach me!
