Just to add, this doesn't necessarily mean the header is the cause, several other modifications there that in isolation or in combination might cause the AFR getting off track...

it was the header I monitor my AFR all the time and with the header the change was pretty apparent

Ok, good. That is, in combination with the other mods you already have I just have a CBE now so still hoping the AFR won't be as far off as, apart from the dip, I don't need more power...

Last time I attempted to give a reasonable explanation I got told off "don't know what you're talking about".

Basically if in your worldview it is possible that headers can do this to start with and these guys ain't liars or wizards of sorts... It's header acoustics. They nailed the exhaust gas speed, travel length, blending, cat restiction etc. so that gasses get extracted evenly across the rev range in a way that matches the engine characteristics and programming. Basically, like a well tuned wind instrument.

But don't take my word for it, didn't do a PhD on the subject, just something I imagined to be so, no proof whatsoever other than it seems to do the job...

I feel your pain. I too was chastised for saying that these guys aren't spouting off lies and cheating dyno readouts. my car feels awesome with the header and my exhaust is the same as @thehapaone except the CBE (I have the FT86SF V1). goes to show the right design works wonders.

I don't mean any disrespect in asking. I know people can be brutal when it comes to third party dynos and wanting to see non "vendor bloated" dynos to see a product actually performs. That's how I ended up with my JDL header. With the ones shown, I am shocked at how well it does untuned. This is a really well made and designed header at its price point and well worth the wait.

When i ordered in early March I was quoted 6-8 weeks, however that has turned into 13-14 weeks due to raw material supply issues. Currently sitting in the mid teens for next-in-line to ship.

Give these guys a break. FT-86 SpeedFactory released an excellent, high quality product with thorough R&D and are doing their best to give it to the customers as fast as they can (as opposed to building a stockpile first).

Shhhh... Don't spread the word... Their welder can't keep up with the demand.

Is there a Unichip map for the FT86 SpeedFactory UEL catted header? The header is great and no torque dip noticeable, but would like to get more power. I am planning on trying the 'TRD CAI, All Headers, All Catback + ((Fuel ~, Timing ~)).hex' map.

The quality of the header itself was superb. Excellent welds and everything lined up nicely. I referred to Jeremy's install video from the website during my installation. Installation was pretty straightforward and simple. The one bolt requiring a flex joint socket was the only tricky part, but even that wasn't that bad.

Problem: After firing up the car, I encountered a slight leak at the cat side flange to the block. I checked and recheck my torque specs (for this I referred to the Borla UEL header install instructions) and it was still there. I removed the header and reinstalled and still had the same issue.

I checked the gasket, flange, and block, but did not notice anything that should be an issue. Figured it was my error during install and reinstalled. Still a leak. I purchased a new OEM gasket to see if it may have been a gasket issue. Reinstalled and still a leak.

I spoke to Jeremy about the issue and he stated he had not heard of an issue with any flanges leaking. He suggested I double check my OP connection as that is where they have had leaks some leaks reported. I checked again and did not observe any issues except in that flange connection.

Jeremy sent me another Grimmspeed gasket kit to try the thicker gasket again. I received the gaskets (in 2 days, very quick) and installed again (I would say I'm about a pro at this point). Happy to say, no exhaust leak now! Not sure what occurred or why the previous gaskets were leaking, but it is finally in good working order!

I love the tone and rumble I have now! The only exhaust mods I have are the FT86speedfactory header and their V1 unresonated exhaust. Great products and customer service as always!
I've got the same issue. Pulled the header tonight and I've got soot at the cat side where the header mounts to the block. I need to try some other gaskets.

Hey anyone hear any news about delays due to materials??? Hopefully it's not too long, given FT86SF's excellent past customer service, I hope they have something in mind to make us happy if we have to wait longer for our orders..

Don't get me wrong, I understand it's out of their hands, but they have also taken payment based on a 8-10 week wait.
