mothespaceman: 14' Satin White BRZ Build!

As most other build threads, my intention with this is to follow the build progress of my 14' SWP BRZ! Forgive me if it seems like it's back dated a bit, because it is. No SUPER MAWDZ done just yet! But after all, it's only been two months!

- Disclaimer: Many of the photos in here are in EXACTLY the same place due to it being my 'go to' spot across the street to take quick progress pictures.

Here we go!

The day that I picked her up from Subaru of Kennesaw, these guys were a pleasure to deal with, gave me a pretty fair price and took 10 extra steps to ensure I was happy.

Here is what I traded in, a lightly modded 2012 WRX. As we don't get much snow here in Atlanta (obviously) I HAD to try to get the most out of the AWD and snap some cool pictures.

A few other quick pics of the WRX:

And my other ride...

Back to the BRZ! After four long, long weeks... my coilovers finally came in!:

These were extremely well packaged and protected, as you can see here:

Build quality on these feels second to none, for a fairly budget oriented coilover system, I was extremely pleased with the finish and feel of these:

MUCH needed roller bearings to prevent that nasty spring pop:

A few quick install pictures, not as many as I intended... but I was just too stoked to have them on!

I had to all but max out the camber for wheel fitment:

Fast forward, in addition to the coilovers and familiar looking wheels, she also has 20% tint all around w/ 50% full windshield coverage.

UPDATE (so that as I continue, you don't have to cruise the whole thread)

Added some super sweet Cusco lower control arms for maximum alignment.

Also, fresh Michelin Pilot Super Sports! I now know why people rant and rave about these tires, they are beyond awesome!

After installing the LCA's, MPSS and a performance alignment from Gran Turismo East. The ride height had to go up a few millimeters to get everything
within a 50% street 50% track alignment spec, but it drives and handles so much quicker, sharper and confidently than it ever has! Once all the parts
were installed, the tires and set up REALLY brought it all together.

Man I LOVE the CB1000R. If I ever get back to riding, that's one of my top choices. How do you like it compare to the 1000RR?

Sweet. Keep it up. How does the coilovers feel? Soft on the bumps? Never had any fortune parts before.

Thanks dude! I absolutely love this bike. I've never personally owned a 1000RR, but I imagine that its just a bit more... cramped. I've had a few cruisers as well as supersport bikes (600RR) and this thing is a great balance of both! Perfect in the mountains, and doesn't make you suicidal on long rides.

I took them on a pretty lengthy cruise around town on the factory setting (full soft) and they are very very tame over the bumps. So far, I'm very impressed.
