Omg, you're right! Danny Kao told me they were illegal. I just checked the rulebook (14.10.J).

Thanks

So, I am trying to determine which, if either, of these diff bushings are legal, they both seem to me to add additional metal from OEM.

If you want to get super documented, you'd get the 925, then while you have the OEM bushing out, you weigh both separately with pictures.

Motor mounts are, indeed, legal no matter what material..as long as they weigh the same or more than OEM..

Stock Engine Mount:

Cusco Engine mount:

So weight isn't an issue.. I will say that NVH is WAY more with the Cusco's..and you FEEL everything.. that could be good. or bad depending on how you look at it.. I will say my car feels VERY connected and feedback is awesome.

How about these sti steering rack bolts, legal? LINK

Obviously more metal than stock, but these aren't bushings.

What say you experts?

you can change any bolt you want.. even going to titanium.. saving about 10lbs thru-out the car.. The Steering bolts.. are legal.. but why would you want them when you can change out the rack bushings???

Old Rack bushings..

New Whitline Rack bushings.. the TIC ones are awesome too

Not sure what the bolts do.. as the stock ones are Grade 8...

Durometer Test of the bushings.

STOCK....

Whiteline....

Sorry for the fuzzy Pic.. but clearly harder than stock..

Why not both?

If i'm visualizing this correctly, the sti bolts have two points of location while the stock ones don't, I might be wrong.

Seems like a great way to locate the rack along with the upgraded bushings.

BTW, got a DIY on these bushings? Gonna do these pretty soon.

Thanks!
