Although there is a target demographic of youthfulness for the actual "brand", it is not going to be young people for the FR-S. 1) Due to pricing, and 2) the mean age of a Scion owner is already 30+ yrs old. You don't have to be in your 20's to be young hearted. I have a family, 32yrs old and buying an FR-S.
Completely agree. I'm 30 but I won't be buying the FR-S till I'm 31 (next year model for me).

To be honest, if you're 20-25 range - unless you are living at home and working full time with decent pay, a $25k car isn't that affordable.

If you're 25-30 with great pay, chances are you are still paying off student loans and thus loading a car loan would not be feasible especially if you are trying to move out to a place of your own.

Therefore 30-35 is actually what the realistic youngest market they can achieve. Toyota/Scion aren't trying to make a car 16-20 year olds can buy brand new but something they ASPIRE to get (ie: second hand or save up for all your young life to buy - a friend of mine saved up since he was 12 to buy a Mustang, he bought it in cash at 18). So this is just right.

You can always lease the FR-S...i bet there will be some good lease rates on the FR-S...probably less than $300 a month for 36 months with 12000 miles per year.

Hopefully, scion might pull through with "massive options" for the frs and we will sll celebrate top grade gt86 like frs. I hope they realize they have many people who would uograde lots if things on this car .
