I think old greg's comment has to do with people being willing to drop another grand for the Subaru with HID and NAV. This obviously isnt totally true for the tuner market, but for the more popular general sales these types of items get noticed and make sales.
I agree cuz I'm one of those people. I really don't care much for factory nav units or even in car nav units for that matter. I've always found those interfaces clunky and ugly. As for HIDs, it'd be nice to have them but not for extra grand as you said. I think the price is spot on for the BRZ. There's just enough things I don't like about on the BRZ that has kept me sticking with the FRS. All I can say is...it's been a LONG ROAD to get to this point. Think about it, HAHAHA!

Cancelled my Dec FRS order this morning and ordered a BRZ. I was really expecting the FRS to be $1K cheaper and the Subaru $1K more. I still think it's close to competitive if someone just wants it to be cheap, but in 9 months when you can get the Subaru for invoice if you shop around I don't see how Scion is going to sell anything.

The problem is there is almost no way to get a BRZ now till around christmas or early next year, since most of the allocation is pre-sold. But if you wait, you will be able to get a BRZ limited for about the price of a FR-S, if you use the VIP discount which Subaru will probably allow in about 6 months when demand dies down.

Yeah pure pricing is going to kill scion on this car at first but I see them discounting the car heavily towards christmas. There will be FR-S models sitting on the lot for sure.

And you never really had a real FR-S order since no dealers have placed orders for FR-S yet. But I think you made the right move.

I created a thread but apparently no one knows what is it.. (feel free to answer here or the other thread). Looking at the news release, Limited adds a Security System. Anyone have any idea what this system is?

Hell, the real question in my case is if the $1300 would be worth the possibility that the brz seats are going to last longer than the frs ones with the added bonus of the headlights on the brz premium.

I want something that's going to last either way.

DRL are mandatory, so why not have them look cool in LEDs? I think Scion screwed up, they should have made HIDS and bespoke standard.

A real NAV and HIDS for $1300 is worth it in my opinion...

Canucks are almost certainly going to get screwed over, the base BRZ there does not include nav and the difference will be at least $1700...

EDIT - new full spec sheets just released by Subaru Canada! Nav IS included now. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4754
