I'll buy the $29g's but it better have a brembo calipers, LSD, carbon composite roof, a lighter doors, hood, trunk and fenders

Sounds about right. But here we are again directly converting JDM prices to US prices.

$28k would be a bit much for me. Something around $25k for a turbo version would be sweet. I hope they don't pull a "Subaru" on us and put a different/weaker transmission in the N/A version (I doubt they will, but you never know). If the cars are the same and a base N/A model is $22K and a turbo model is $28k, I'd get the N/A, then find a totaled Turbo model and swap the ecu, turbo, and other misc. parts. Either way my car will be turbo'd, but it would be much easier if Toyota offered it from the factory (warranty!)

I wonder if they were talking about the MR2 hybrid or FT-HS

Weaker? Yeah NA tranny is weaker tranny than STI, but iirc they use same tranny on WRX.

I thought the N/A impreza and wrx used a weaker tranny than the sti. It might have changed for the new models, but I'[m pretty sure the older one had that problem.

Yes older ones had a problem cuz those morons over boosted it & still use the freaking RS tranny. RS tranny can handle 240~300hp without problem, just if you go higher hp, gotta swap the tranny to JDM gc tranny or 6sp tranny.
