Question - two white plastic screws under shifter trim ring
Hi, I am curious for a silly question. Under the (manual) shifter trim ring, there are two white plastic screws. Does anyone know what these for? Thanks a lot.

If you're referring to the silver balloon shaped trim, those are tapping screws underneath, that hold the console assembly in place.
There are two located above the top of the balloon that go in towards the dash at an angle, and two located where the balloon starts to narrow that go directly downward. Part No: SU003-00064 There are also two more screws located under the cup holder cushion that also secures the console box in place. I hope this helps. |

Now that we are talking about a cap, rather than a screw than yes that is the correct part no.
There are two of them like you said, one diagonal from the one shown in the picture. The part is called a clamp, it looks like it holds the shift level seat (the black tray directly underneath the clamp), to the dust boot plate. There are two vertical pegs that come up off the dust boot plate. So, the dust boot plate is held in place by screws that go into the body. Coming off that plate are two pegs which those white caps or "clamps" connect to, that hold the shift lever seat in place. (connected to the dust boot plate). |
