I know this time is about 0.05 off the pace of Hahm's time, but I thought I'd see if I could get an honourable mention seeing as I'm still street tires, stock exhaust, and stock tune.

According to my laptimer, I actually had a 1:26 going in a different session. I knew I had it coming up to the last corner so I tried to really push it and ended up blowing it -

The VIR times were quite a bit off the fastest NA time, but your Thunderbolt time is on the list now. I accidentally had a FI time listed as NA. Been fixed.
You should list two times for NJ Thunderbolt as the "Professional" series run the chicane and "clubs" may or may*not. His lap time was bypassing the chicane.

Typically without the chicane at T3 is 5-7 seconds a lap faster depending on the HP.

I consider you quite honorable. Now get the proper tires, exhaust, and tune so you can crush his time.

Club circuit? Some other circuit? I don't know the park, but I see two optional turns for a total of four possible tracks.

Getting the tires (Hoosier R6's) this weekend @ VIR, although they will only be used for initial break-in procedures. Exhaust probably won't happen for a while, as that would bump me up a class for time trials (it was either exhaust or the tires, I went with tires). An E85 tune might be in the near future, as that won't affect my class, but I'm kind of wary about using E85 and I don't think I'll need it, but we'll see.

First event of the year and first time on the nice new pavement at VIR. That definitely helped my time as the track was very grippy in the dry and a few of the corners were widened slightly. The car definitely has a 2:18 and probably a 2:17 in it in its current form, but 2:19 would have been good enough to win TTD this weekend so I'm pretty happy with it. Next time I come back I should be competing in NASA's TT with Hoosiers, so I imagine the time ought to drop significantly.
The new track is absolutely record smashing! I was having overheating issues with my STi but my fastest lap prior was a 1:56.3 and my main competition was in the 1:57s. He busted out a 1:54 and I asked him what he had done to his car and said, nothing it's all track. People are seeing 3+ seconds quicker! Lower power cars may not be as much. Most of the time is made up at T3-T4 and heading into Oak Tree.

I think next weekend will be even faster if anyone is going out for NASA.

I'll be there this weekend. I'm pretty sure I can get into the 2:17s, maybe even 16s on street tires. I will also be breaking in some r6's in one session so maybe into the 2:14-15s on them.

[ame]http://youtu.be/IPp4XnKWkYg[/ame]

Unfortunately I only had a one day weekend at VIR yesterday as one of my brake rotors cracked and I did not have a replacement. I managed to limp my car home and replacements and spares have already been ordered. This was my first time driving with the 70lbs. of ballast that I'll need to stay in TTD in the car, so I was getting used to that. Fairly confident that I could have easily gotten into the 2:17s on street tires since I think I was going in too hot for turn 4.

I did one short session for the initial break-in procedure for the Hoosier R6s and had a 2:15 going before heading off into the pits. Looking forward to my next event where I'll get to really push the Hoosier's and see what they got.

Forgot to mention, my overlay program seems to mess with the best lap time for some reason, which is why it only shows a 2:18.304 in the video. Also, my camera was aimed a little too low and the video outside the car got a bit washed out.

No kidding about the 3+ seconds. Jon Kozlow just smashed the TTD record today. Last year it was set at 2:14.8 I think and today Jon ran a 2:11.691.

Crazy what fresh pavement and a few slightly wider corners will do.

I'd like to see @ja1217 and @Element Tuning swap for a run at VIR. See how the mods affect times on the same day.

[ame]http://youtu.be/At1gpuiOqdc[/ame]

This was my first time on Thunderbolt and my first time competing in NASA's Time Trial program in class TTD. I ended up coming in 3rd place (2nd place was a stripped out RX8 that ran a 1:34.080, and 1st place was a well prepped E36 M3 who broke the track record, which he already had, with a 1:30.5 something) and I know I left some time on the table. The octopus section (the tight right then left loop towards the end of the lap, before the bridge) was giving me trouble all weekend and I ran out of my DS-Uno brake pads and was running my street pads DS-2500's so I was all over the place (sometimes not even on the track) in turn 1.

I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be jumping to probably over double the power when taking @Element Tuning car for a drive. Especially since my car at 181whp is the most powerful car I've driven that wasn't a truck.
