I had a kid pull up in a 2013 v6 automatic mustang and rev at me at a light today. He didn't look much more than 16 or 17. I just let him win because it's not worth the gas. A mile and a half down the road, I watched him slide off the slick corner and mess up his passenger side door on a speed limit sign....dumb kid

Um yeah a V6 Mustang would walk our cars in a straight line, so you weren't letting him win lol

Don't get me wrong, WRXs/STis are nice cars and all, but too many douchey owners... one time a guy in an STi kept trying to race me in a crowded downtown area when it was raining. Then gave me the finger when I wouldn't race him... seriously wtf

They're not all that overrated. They're great well-rounded cars. Cost, power, efficiency, & practicality.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

ive noticed i enjoy talking to the older generation that own these cars, i know a couple guys in there late 30's mid 40's that own sti's/wrx's, some stock, some modded, i was telling them my encounters with there cars and they were embarrassed to be apart of that crowd

They aren't overrated, they are good cars with lots of potential. But they are turning into the Civic of the 2010's. Everyone has one; I see more modded WRXs than I do modded Civics. Which probably explains the influx of dbag owners, the dbags who thought it was cool to mod civics a few years back now jumped on the WRX bandwagon.

Not overrated at all, those cars definitely live up to the hype. The problem is that they are too well-rounded and affordable, so it's kind of the go-to car for your typical college grad (frat boy?) and other insecure douches who can't afford a BMW and wants to drag-race everyone on the streets.

The twins are much more niche and require more deliberation; most of us were completely aware of the fact that they are "underpowered" and impractical relative to a WRX, yet we still bought one because we are able to see that a car's potential is defined by much more than its 0-60 time, and also because we respect the AE86 heritage (affordable, RWD, fun) that this car pays tribute to.

In my opinion, it takes more balls and character to rock an 86 over a WRX

Every single car has it's douche bag drivers. The problem is you only notice the douchey ones because they want to make their presence known while the cool ones don't really care to direct attention to themselves.

It all evens out in the end though. Fat chicks don't fit in the 86.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed with how people have driven near me since I purchased this car. The other day an idiot pulled so close behind me, and I think this happened last night too. I have had people in a Lexus pull up and pass me very fast and even a Honda or two. Oh yeah, I think there was a EVO that thought I was trying to race him. It is a different world having this car with the public image as compered to my previous Honda civic 100% stock. I have gotten many compliments from mature adults on the looks of this car though...
