I wish it was so. In MI (and I think CA, DC &MD) you don't get trade-in credit.

I have an invoice contract. My salesman showed me the base model WRX pricing as an example.. it was between $1400 and $1500 off MSRP. So we both agreed that would be a reasonable guess for the BRZ. So, I'm assuming I'll be paying about $24,500 for the car.. But I'll probably add one of the option packages with auto-dim mirror, etc.. so I might be closer to $25k before tax/title/license.

I can confirm that MI has no trade in credit. Also, Illinois is the same way. That sucks big time! But, I have no trade as I sold my prior car private party, so for this purchase I'm ok.

Lower end of $1100-1500.

How are you guys able to get invoice pricing? Working or family with someone at a dealership? Or are you just that good at negotiating?

I am a USAA member and bought a Forester for my wife from my dealership a few months ago. I'm hoping that between those two I'll be able to negotiate a little.

That's a possibility, but you'll be knocking at $30K OTD depending on tax.

Yeah. Illinois has something else that's weird. IIRC, it's regarding sales tax on a lease or smth: normal state=sales tax on sale price less residual value less trade-in, IL: tax on the sale price less trade-in regardless of the residual value.

Yea, my dealer just called and said they are suppose to release the price at the NY show. The dealers are suppose to get them Thursday, and public Friday. Hopefully he's right....

Also, he said dealers got memo that states they should expect first cars late April or early May.....

We'll need pics or it didn't happen

Eh... $2k is still $2k no matter what the base price.

I will just wait for some kid to put the back end of his/her BRZ into a wall and snag the seats for a good price, and sell my seats for a couple hundred less.

The climate panel doesn't bother me at all.

Some people actually went the premium route because they liked that trim level better, not just because it's cheaper.

Believe it or not a fair amount of people actually prefer cloth seats to leather (especially in warmer climates) and I've seen a couple people say they think the back end looks cleaner without a wing on it.
