About to tackle this V3 install in the next days and going through parts check.

Received my 3.12 pulley and corresponding Gates K060966 belt and also replacing to the supplied Vortech idler pulley with 38006.

couple of questions (note, I have a used kit... hence my questions below)

1. Need to buy extension wires for the MAF. What gauge should I buy? Since the supplied ones were used with the previous owner. Don't want to spend $90 for MAF wire harness...

2. Is everyone running at least the 2.5bar map sensor, or is stock ok? I didn't have a 2.5bar sensor included. I read the manual and I think this is only for the COMPLETE kit, and not the tuner kit. Can someone please confirm I can run the stock map sensor (running stock fueling and stock pump).

Seems like I got everything else... just waiting on Vortech oil for an oil change prior to install.

You will need the 2.5bar map sensor or whatever sensor the tuner recommends. The stock unit wont work.

Wiring, well someone can answer that. I believe it was 14 gauge that shipped with kit before they had the MAF extension.

What's the prefered setup for use with the Vortech?
Dual cans, one on PCV one on breather. The PCV side will need a quality can that can handle boost with no leaks. Breather side just needs baffles.

Doesn't Vortech's instructions call for the check valve to be placed on the hose coming from the PCV to the manifold? There shouldn't be any boost going to the catch can if hooked up before the check valve.

I also have the Radium dual catch cans. After 1,000 supercharged kilometers, I inspected them and found a little bit of oil on the PCV side can. Breather side can was dry. How's yours holding up? Are you getting blow by on the breather side?

At WOT that check valve still opens, still under vacuum, so I'd make sure its a sealed system.

I had a little but very little, but I have seen several guys on here who are not so lucky and have blown oil into BOV and coated intercooler.

Could be tuning, driving habits or just some motors with less ring seal.
Its one of those impossible to know.

Rob, do you have a pic of the hose with the check valve? I just want to make sure I got my catch can installed right.

Are there pics or a diagram I can use to plan this out?

Are there preferred units? I was looking at the Cusco. But I'd like something fairly compact. Is there maybe a 2 in 1 unit on the market?

thanks again.

I used the Mishimoto oil cooler. The new design sandwich plate clears the vortech airbox neatly. I could not use the supplied mount though. It would not clear the intercooler.

Here's the install from my build page.

Learned the hard way not to check your blower fluid levels after driving the car. Rounded off the hex hole to turn brass head of the dipstick

Calling Vortech Monday...

I rounded off my vent plug by accident because I used a metric hex

If I ever round off the dipstick/plug I'm cutting a slot in it for a flat blade screwdriver
