It's only been a quarter tank, but the chirping occurs much less frequently and is much quieter when it shows up. On a single short drive it'll come and go. Chirping at some stoplights and not chirping at others. On top of that, the engine is quieter overall.

I went conservative with a 1:1000 ratio, but I might up that to 1:750 at the next fill up.

Things should improve even more after the third tank full

I assume you're still using it without any complications? Still at 1oz/5gal? Crickets gone?

That was my fix before. Got my pump replaced for the second time about a month and a half ago, now I get chirps WITH e85. Fuck it, I give up.

I grabbed the smallest bottle of TCW3 from Walmart for a few bucks. A couple capfulls in each fill up worked well.

yes , from day 1 since the engine is so noisy. In 10K miles, no issues and only heard crickets once for 5 minutes, and that's with 10% ethanol gas which is all we can get around here.

I posted a few times in the crickets thread about adding 2 stroke oil.

I wonder if Castor oil might work even better.

It is sometimes used as 2 stroke oil (Blendzall) and also as an octane booster (Blendzall octane booster is 1/2 castor).

Castor oil has some very special properties.

At the dilution ratios we are talking about, even a non-ashless oil won't hurt anything at all I'm sure.

I got really distracted by the turbocharged, methanol-fueled GSXR 750 from post 13. That thing must be a beast!

I think I've become a believer. I drive a lot and have very consistent driving habits. I record my mileage on every tank so I'll give this a shot (2 oz per tank) and see if there's a difference in MPGs over the course 5 tanks. It did take my chirps away today so that made me happy.

It's not much different than using MMO or Lucas "upper cylinder lubricant".

So basically any two-cycle motor oil that's TCW3 would work? 2 oz per 10 gallons?

To those of you using TC-W3, just curious if any of you live in a state that requires smog tests. Has TC-W3 had any negative effects on passing the test? How many miles have you been adding it to your gas at fill up? I'm sure its safe in the short term but was wondering what the cumulative effects might be after using it for 50k or more miles.
