"Come Race Me Bro" Encounters

This isn't a race me bro encounter but I did cruise next to a black BRZ on my way home from work today. All I could tell he had was aftermarket tail-lights and a red light bulb between the reverse lights (whatever it's called). We gave each other a wave and that was it.

About 20 minutes later I end up behind a bone-stock (as far as I could tell) STi. In front of the STi was a dump-truck who was dropping bits of sand and pebbles on us. So the STi quickly goes into the right-lane and passes the dump truck. I tried to do the same, literally right behind the STi, so I was on his ass a little. I had to back out of the pass because there was a car coming up in front of me and I didn't want to die or cut off the dump truck, so back behind the dump truck is where I ended up. I wasn't trying to entice the STi or anything like that, just trying to avoid my car from getting rained on with dirt.

So I eventually get passed the dump truck and I'm just cruising behind the STi again at normal speed, about 5-6 car lengths away. About 15 seconds after I am behind him he decided to gun it for a good 1/4 mile and then he moved into the slow lane and he was cruising behind some slower cars. As I approached him in the fast lane (just cruising), he decided to jump in front of me in the passing lane and gun it again for about a 1/2 mile, he had to have been doing well over a buck because the fast lane on this highway cruises at like 80mph. He then got off the highway a few exits after.

Just thought it was kinda lame, like I get it dude your car is fast y0.

I am so glad this topic was raised. I too have experienced drivers revving at me while i sit at a red light and/or pulling up next to me challenging me to a race. Mostly young Caucasians male drivers, who are driving custom imports. Too much Fast and Furious, I wondered. I simple look at them and smile,thinking really, and the potential outcome. Being stopped by a police officer, a spending ticket, or God forbid an accident. I simple wave, obey the law and be grateful I am keeping my insurance premium at a minimum.

More people tried to race me in my tC than this car. The tC was a sleeper and I could fuck with WS6 Trans-Ams and turbo diesels trucks. It was SC and other goodies.

Back to the FRS...I had some stupid ass redneck in a late 90's/early 2000's S10 try to race me on a 55 mph 2 lane road. I was passing him in the fast lane and he was cruising along until he saw me. I passed him slowly and he guns it to only have to break quickly to keep him from hitting the car in front of him. He had wide drag slicks and an A pillar gauge pod. Still a 4 banger. Wish we were on a twisty road to only watch his dumb red neck ass disappear in my rear view mirror. Bet that truck handles well

I had a guy in a Scion tC try to race me, and a guy in an older V6 Tiberon try to race me at a stop light. I passed on the tC, but I "raced" the Tiberon until we hit speed limit. I was ahead the whole time, oddly enough.

I'd rather go to a track where its not illegal, but I'd get raped by Mustangs and WRX's in the straights, and that's no fun.

The other day I was just mildly cruising back home after a short trip to the grocery store when out of no where an old beat up gold 90's camry rolls up to me engine revving.....


I literally look at him and then do an OMG I'M SHAKING IN MY WITTLE BOOTS face. What a loser, i thought it was super hilarious.

It's all good man, I'll always loathe the Tiburon because back in HS I really didn't know anything about cars and thought the tiburon was a really hot car.

Then I ended up looking up the specs and saw how underpowered it was.

So now I especially hate Tiburons, especially those that customize them. What a waste of time and energy, lmao

wow does the V6 Tiburon only output 170HP? I always thought they were around 230-250HP. Is this the lowest output from a V6? lol

had a WRX just the other day try to go at it, i had no interested seeing my car is BONE stock, i was in the fast lane and my turn was coming and i had to move over to the right lane

so as im trying to slow down to get behind the WRX, he is slowing down also, litteraly we got down to 20-25mph, i ended up rolling my window down and yelling at him that i had no interest, he flips me off and drives off

I think they are so proud of the power advantage, they have to try to instigate something. Happened to me a few weeks ago with an STi.

Had the same thing happen to me yesterday with the same car - I was cruising in the middle lane of the highway (we have three lanes here) and two guys with the windows down come up next to me in the passing lane and keep revving at me then just launch ahead before having to break hard because there was fairly dense traffic.

Definitely don't understand this mentality at all, but especially when the person trying to instigate it just has a clear power advantage.

But idk, maybe it's jealousy of the twins since it's new and fun that they need to show their car is still cool too lol idk.

If they noticed a twin with a FMIC then fine, that's worthy to play with, but otherwise its just dbaggy. I hate the ricer flybys.
