Thank you for the review Jeff. We will look into making the bolt change on the next run as that is something very simple to change.

We have now pushed the front tie rods to the front of the list. We did not foresee the front bumper issue. I knew these bumpers were a little flimsy but not THIS flimsy. I stood on mine with no issues, but the bumper hasn't been removed nor the foam, so that may change how the bumper deals with the force?

The splitter is 1/2" thick.

Would it be possible to do the tie rods from the mounting points inside the bumper? I like how clean it looks without them. Or would that limit their effectiveness?

This is EXACTLY why we don't want them. It would also add to the cost which is something we want to stay away from as well.

Moving the tie rods that far back would reduce their effectiveness. However, we will look into going that route before moving them through the grill. We deeply like the clean look as well.

Reduced effectiveness is still more effective than no tie rods at all though. And don't have to be the cool adjustable tie rods that you see on racecars; a simple brace that ties the mounting points to the bumper beam would suffice, which would keep additional costs and weight to a minimum.

My thought is if we are going to add something like that, we may as well make it as functional as possible. By putting the pick up points behind the bumper, it would keep the weight off the bumper tabs, but the splitter may deflect downward at high speeds still. By placing the pick up points outward towards the front where the higher pressure is (see photo), it will ensure that the splitter stays parallel even at 100+.

How rigid is the material though? If the material itself is strong enough not to deform under load, then the only practical (vs. theoretical) locations you could get wind-induced deformation are the mounting points themselves. Since it looks like the rear of the splitter connects to hard mounting points under the car and the middle connects to a flimsy bumper, the wind is using the splitter as leverage to pull the bumper down. If the bumper mounting points are sufficiently reinforced to withstand that pressure, then you shouldn't need something out on the leading edge.

to increase rigidity, is it possible to integrate vertical ribs into the splittler, like what they have on the underside of plastic forks?

metal ribs could be riveted into the splitter surface.

The material is rigid. I agree, which is why I will test it first, I just don't want to promise a certain design and then come out with another .

I never really cared much about splitters, but I was always told that height plays huge role.
