You can buy titanium knives (scuba gear, for titanium's spectacular corrosion resistance). So technically, ye$.

I think the fancy alloy steels make better cutting blades, though.

Then you have to pay out the ass for insurance and equipment though too. I know only a handful of people in the medical industry, but those who have their own practice didn't make a lot of money for quite a while. Those that are rich are well into their 50s, 60s, or older.

Baffles me too though. Friend of mine is working on his master's degree (in IT) and has to pay several thousand dollars to take an unpaid internship, which is going to cost him several hundred hours of his own time... And this is considered a program for working adults?

You still have to be licensed for the state...

For instance, my cousin is a Canadian citizen and a resident of TO. She finished at Osgoode several years ago and is licensed to practice...only NY State has reciprocity. To get licensed anywhere else she'd have to take that state's Bar exam. Or at least that's how I understood it.

Like that for professional groups everywhere, I think. My mom was a teacher, but needed to be licensed in whichever province she wanted to work in. Hoops to jump through. Engineers and doctors are the same here, but I think anyone from a foreign country, educated in an approved institution can do it too (provided they are PRs).
