Definitely different here then. I wonder if Ecutec or similar would be able to reprogram it?

Very different indeed. Never tried the pedal dance, I've read it disables the ABS as well? I've used the same method sav describes and also managed a full 360 degree spin on skidpan.

Pedal Dance disables "oh sh!t brakes", I read. Those being the "panic detection breaking" that the FRS has in (not sure the 86 has it).

It DOES SOMETHING in our SA spec cars.

Being the first car I've owned with electronic nannies, I've enjoyed putting them to the test under a variety of conditions to see how they work, and what they can do. I think they're amazing. Their reaction time is a lot quicker than mine, and in most cases, the action taken and the result achieved is spot-on.

However, I have found that they sometimes get a bit confused under very poor traction conditions. But nobody said that they can work miracles...

On public roads, I always keep my nannies on, unless I very intentionally want them off (rarely). Their purpose is to save the situation when I lose concentration and do something stupid. That's happened to me twice, and they've done exactly that - and done it very well.

I have so much confidence in them that I leave all the nannies on for my first few sessions on an unfamiliar racetrack. Once I get the feel of the track and start pushing harder and can feel them kicking in, then I'll take them off. If I have a passenger with me on track, I'll always leave the nannies on.

My comments above are based on R-compound semi-slick tyres. I don't know how the nannies work with stock tyres because I ditched mine very soon.
