As little as possible, as much as it takes to make 250 whp out the box, preferably with room to grow once I have access to 1st world facilities.

I was about to build another V8 Miata before I bought the 86 so maybe I can relate. After a lot of thinking I decided on the 86 instead and just about immediately put a fullblown kit on it. I run e85 so im up over 400wheel and I love it and im pretty power hungry usually. If you originally wanted to LS swap it I don't think you'll be satisfied with a SC.

That is a valid point, however, I have an N2O toy, a Turbo and an NA. So it only makes sense to do this one blower

I suggest pricing everything out and listing out the pros/cons of each kit. All kits will have some sort of additional costs based on what you are looking to do. Custom tune will cost X; header, front pipe, exhaust will cost Y; etc. By doing so, you can figure out what headaches you want to deal with and what you want to do up front. There is a sticky thread that goes through all the kits. Take some time to read through it as well.

I wouldn't really bother with headers since they don't really add much and not worth the efforts and money..for $3500 (if group buy is still available) this is really hard to pass..I was actually in your shoes couple months ago and found out the Rotrex kits are the best options especially for those who plan to track their cars.. I have picked Kraftwerks kit since I like the idea of being able to drive my car if something happens to belt and ability to upgrade the SC down the road.. I've recently installed my kit and had my tune from @moto-mike..wow, what a difference..I would suggest adding some sort of engine oil cooler,catch can, radiator (if you plan tracking your car in future) and clamp all the hoses in advance since it's easier before the SC install..check out my signature and tips in the owner's thread..

You can also take a look at the SC shootout that is recently added by Drift office as someone mentioned

Remote tuning might be a decent option for you. Delicious tuning has a tune for the the kit.

I don't know of any EL headers that fit the kit, I had read JDL was considering making some. I prefer UEL myself.

As far as the fueling system holding up... Looks like it is, but a tuner can answer that better.

Doesn't take too long to read through it. A lot of it has people vouching for kits they love. The ones that get tracked show the robustness of the kits and how well the car takes it. Obviously, read and formulate your own opinion.
