The stroker kit takes you from 2.0 - to 2.1 ..... a capacity gain of 100cc? Probably easier to just go another 2psi of boost lol

Why was the smaller M8 con rod bolt used? subaru beefed it up to M9.5 intentionally to handle the pressure at 7000 rpm speeds.

at least that's what the FA20 D4S development paper in the injection thread sticky says.

Poor translation of cracked rod caps?

I guess the more interesting thing to me is the cams, not so sure about a longer stroke to get .1L of displacement.

were are people getting 2.2 max and that is rounding up I guess? Because every calculator I use says 90mm stroke 90 mm bore = 2.27 liters so almost 2.3

There was some conjecture a long time ago they were working on a 2.2L stroker kit. Well as you can see, it's a 2.1L stroker kit. Now if someone wanted to pair their parts with some custom pistons using a larger bore, then you would see >2.1L. 90mm is a lot to overbore in this engine, I don't think it would really work well especially with a 90mm stroke.

I was reading an article the other day about an FA20 tear down, they seemed to notice it's a pretty tight fit for those stock cams, so fitting any kind of significantly larger lobed cams would probably run into interference issues.

Now to get a lil' more off topic...this badass RC car will definitely tickle the pickle.

6/6/14 UPDATE
Finally got the motor and size to the piston bore. Measured the rings gaps and time to start assemble the motor with the new HKS billet crankshaft.

Question

This is abviously an FB25 crank. Has HKS done any additional prep to the crank? Shot Peening, nitride, cryo?
