Yes I have my header already, but I wasn't crapping up the thread by constantly bitching about when my header was going to come. Mine took about 2 1/2 months to get to me from the day I ordered.

I just watched as the people before me received their header and saw how far along on the list they were compared to me.

IMO ya'll need a separate vendor thread to keep track of your orders so this thread can be kept to technical discussion.

Agreed with everybody above. The thread was originally for technical discussions. I myself have been patiently waiting and have been biting tongue. IMO, alot of the questions regarding order status, etc seems should be sent directly to FT86SF (I myself have checked my status via e-mail, and Yo was very prompt in replying)

Now back to the technical info. I've done some research ahead of time in prep for my install. Here's is what I've found, but I'll let @FT-86 SpeedFactory verify.

Also, some extra: Torque spec for engine mount (since I've had to jack up the engine to install my Nameless over/front pipe) --> 62 ft-lbs

Hope that helps

Does FT-86SF include any instructions with the headers?

Also. are you planning on doing your install locally in the Bay Area? I was going to source it to a shop, however if you're open to helping teach a fellow member and receiving a 6 pack in return let me know (...PM).

Would love to, although I wouldn't call myself an expert. My schedule is rather unpredictable. PM sent.

Was the car in Inspection mode when on the Dyno? The FSM states to put the car in Inspection Mode for more accurate readings on the Dyno. If not the gains could be higher.

I've had my header for a couple weeks now and wanted to give it a review:

The quality of the header itself was superb. Excellent welds and everything lined up nicely. I referred to Jeremy's install video from the website during my installation. Installation was pretty straightforward and simple. The one bolt requiring a flex joint socket was the only tricky part, but even that wasn't that bad.

Problem: After firing up the car, I encountered a slight leak at the cat side flange to the block. I checked and recheck my torque specs (for this I referred to the Borla UEL header install instructions) and it was still there. I removed the header and reinstalled and still had the same issue.

I checked the gasket, flange, and block, but did not notice anything that should be an issue. Figured it was my error during install and reinstalled. Still a leak. I purchased a new OEM gasket to see if it may have been a gasket issue. Reinstalled and still a leak.

I spoke to Jeremy about the issue and he stated he had not heard of an issue with any flanges leaking. He suggested I double check my OP connection as that is where they have had leaks some leaks reported. I checked again and did not observe any issues except in that flange connection.

Jeremy sent me another Grimmspeed gasket kit to try the thicker gasket again. I received the gaskets (in 2 days, very quick) and installed again (I would say I'm about a pro at this point). Happy to say, no exhaust leak now! Not sure what occurred or why the previous gaskets were leaking, but it is finally in good working order!

I love the tone and rumble I have now! The only exhaust mods I have are the FT86speedfactory header and their V1 unresonated exhaust. Great products and customer service as always!

On a side note: I have the P3 vent gauge and have monitored it for awhile before and after the header install. I did disconnect my batter during my header install. I also live in Yuma, AZ where we already have 90 degree temps. I did not coat my header.

My coolant temps and oil temps have remained unchanged. I usually see 91 degree Celsius coolant during highway driving and 98 to 100 degree Celsius oil temps. Spirited driving I have not seen over 106 degree Celsius oil temps. That was as high as I had gotten prior to the header install as well.

My AFR has remained relatively unchanged.

If you were re-using the flimsy copper gasket, then that was most likely your problem. Any car I've worked on that had copper gaskets, they were a one/two time use. I guess they just flatten out because they are a soft metal. Multi layer steel gaskets like the Grimmspeed, and even Multi layer graphite gaskets are a bit more forgiving.

Thanks for the useful info. I'm also uncoated and with similar ambient temperatures (first 100 degree day of the season today!) so that's reassuring.

Has the gasket issue been resolved (i.e. quality parts) or are we going to have to double them up?

For my issue, I'm not 100% sure if it was the gasket itself or an error on my part. After replacing the gaskets I checked them and did not observe any issues (no pinching, scratches, divets, etc). I have an older torque wrench that has been in use for years that may be needing replacing, but again, I'm not certain.

I can tell you the Grimmspeed gasket kit that comes with the header is thicker and a better quality than the OEM ones. The Grimmspeed gaskets I have installed now work perfect. Doubling up on gaskets is not necessary.
