PSA: New ECM file available for idle dip/extended crank time
Came out today for Subaru. It's a TSB not a recall. Bulletin number 11-136-14. Subaru believes the issue is related to a/c compressor cycling.

I like to use a pencil in case I want to change it later.
Thanks for the headsup though @andrew20195 - I haven't encountered an idle issue yet, but I've been reading quite a bit about it. Good to know they've got a (suggested) solution.

I also note that the tach seems to go into a different mode during these. The idle will dip and the tach will lag, then move to a twitchier, faster mode before settling back down once idle speed has stabilized. No AC means no dip, but I live in GA, so that's not often an option. Think I'll head to my dealer.

Contemplating if I should bother with the TSB even though I have not had any issues with the car since I bought it (September 2012). Almost have 17,000 miles on it and no lights. The idle has dipped on me, but, at least to me, has not seemed severe enough to take it in and have it looked at.

Has anyone actually tried re-flashing already?
I have an openflash and have a different map on it, so it should have already fixed it. However, i notice this issue everytime. |
