Not to worry. We already have a date set on August 30th. Should be plenty hot enough outside ;-)

Umm this seems like an easy fix, robispec radiatir/oilcooled com er with pure distilled water/water wetter. Vented hood (siebon has a good one) and bAm.. No more heat issues.... I don't get it..

Sorry, proven not to work with some turbo setups. It doesn't address the melting fan issue.

@CSG Mike try it and log for us so everyone can see how much of a huge difference it makes at speed so someone ends up making an aftermarket one.

"some turbo set ups.."

I have all my stuff true ceramic coated from swaintech, plus the turbo blanket... i'm sure heat will be a non issue for such a set up..

just doesn't feel like you have exhausted all your avenues

That pressure plot contradicts the one ft86factory has. And like I said the area of the cowl, not the base of the windshield is a low pressure area. Vcmc proved it works and I put mine back in because in the winter I couldn't get up to temp quick enough to get ample heat before I got to work.

Ah.

I've done that. Datalogs indicate that cooling was slowed on the CSG BRZ. The low pressure zone is a result of a trailing gap, which ultimately disappears when the cowl is removed.

We've done both of those, as well as wrapping ALL exhaust components. Fans still melted.

I wonder what speed it becomes non functional. Vcmc cut theirs so i can see that at tripple digit speeds. I really wish we could get a modifed cowl that kept it a trailing edge but added a vent below the trail edge of the hood.
