I'd probably do about $1000 on audio, $1000 suspension, $1000 wheels, $1000 on tail lights and axle back exhaust and small mods

then $1000 on tons of beer during the process

that's my plan anyway

Snow rims and tires, undercarriage rust proofing, maybe a cat back. Whatever is left would be a payment.

Coil overs, track set of wheels and tires, scissor lift maybe some pads and rotors if there's cash left.

Idk, I added up all my mods the other day and it was damn near 5k. Got full bolt ons, wheels, tires, and suspension.

If I get to do it again, I probably would just buy a SC from the get go.

Lol I can see how that read.

the property actually has an old driving range (now car shop/storage). So it's a hybrid parking lot/drive way.

$5k can get you a tuned SC if you install it yourself (which really isn't all that hard) - Innovate IC, JR, and KW can all be had in about that much. It would be a total sleeper for the most part (except for the whine in the Innovate kit). Personally, I'd do the SC and another ~$200 for some springs to drop it on the factory shocks to close on that nasty wheel gap from the factory.

with 5k i dont think i could get the caliber of wheels, tires and suspension i want. if i only had the brz i would probably start off with some srcs, borderline track pads and tires. if i still have my track car probably just a little forced induction to keep the daily commute fun and surprise a couple people along the way.

If the car was stock:
-wheels
-tires
-springs

If it is how it sits right now
-helmet
-as much seat time as it would buy

Essex sprint kit bbk $2000
Ecutek tune $950
Headers $500
Crawford bpb $350
K&N air filter $50
I would spend the rest of money on lightweight rims and tires

The above combo would give you a significant bump in NA power
As well as improve the brakes which are a weak point in the car
New rims and proper tires will significantly increase handling limits and improve braking as well

Go turbo and I will guarantee you that you will never understand how to drive the car fully- unless you're a pro racer. Would make for an incredibly fun street car though!

Personally, I am going to take my time with this car. I am going to learn it fully and understand how it responds to each individual mod I add. I would love to turbo the car right away... but the problem with that is that I wouldn't know how to drive it anymore.

I plan to take my FRS lapping on completely stock everything- including the brake pads. I want the best possible baseline to start from. As I posted earlier, I would likely move on to brake pads, tires/wheels, then suspension. The tune will come when I easily push the car 10/10ths on factory power.

I like this guide from Amuse:
