This is being released this Friday. I'm contemplating on buying it now or waiting for others such as GruppeM to come out with something

I think it costs about 1300 if its the same as the other intake I saw in a thread. Curious about the gains that can be had from this. Since the site doesnt say anything. This + a drop in filter would be great. But for 1300 price is kinda steep. Hopefully people come out with a cheaper version. But the carbon fiber is sexy and helps with heat. According to everyone in that thread it is a really good intake since it keeps the original tubing. If little gains are had from the other intakes released I bet this intake will be really good since it keeps all the original things except for the air scoop, replacing it with their own.

Also very interested in this intake once I get my FR-S in. Since their has been so many problems I am waiting it out before ordering mine.

I e-mailed Gruppe M and they havent responded to my question about releasing one that is similar.

Roughly $1000. I like the idea of this intake much better then anything else i've seen. I might not make a lot of sense to most of you but I don't expect much HP gains or some loud noise from an intake, I am looking more at throttle response.

There's 2 different configurations and the price depends on which 1 you get.

If you plan to get a tune some day. Snag the aFe.

so it is a good idea to run AFE WITHOUT a tune? Cuz I plan to tune after get a header.

I'v hear that if the MAF size change, it will need a tune.

so might run the AFE intake and a catback without tune for 1-2 years.

Yeah you don't require a tune, you can run it without it if you need to and then get tuned later down the road. Lots of guys have done it without issues.
