Wherever you go, make sure they know what a torque wrench is and that they actually use it.
I had a brake shop over-tighten the calipers on my STI, ended up pulling four threads when I removed them to swap pads... I also had a tire shop not torque the lugs properly, so I lost two of those. Greddy in Lake Forest/Irvine didn't hang my e-brake cable, so that rubbed on the drive shaft, and they also didn't torque down the clutch properly so the bolts backed off and it was making a noise like the engine was going to explode. ~$1600 later (expensive to drop the engine in the STI and do a clutch job), I'll never go back to them. |
