I'm having a very hard time resisting the urge to speak my mind about this project, lest I receive a shitstorm of "haters gonna hate" animated gifs.

In a straight line, great.
Drifting, decently.

Anywhere else, not so much.

Hanging an extra ~350lbs off the front end of the car tends to have an adverse effect on handling.

it would fit but the radiator would have to be real skinny or they'll probably cut some of the front frame...

That's what I'm saying the 2JZ is an excellent engine..but it is, rather heavy

Why... why does there exist the ever-present urge to drop a 2JZ in every car known to man. Everytime I see a new car making it's debut someone is always like "DROP A 2JZ IN IT LULZ".

It got old. Fast.

I don't really see it as any different from the urge to drop any of the LS series engine into every car known to man.

Never said I liked that either. Both the "DROP A TWO JAY Z AND 50 SHOT NAS IN IT" and "eeeeeeyup small block chevy" crowd annoy me. Sure they were great motors, sure they make loads of power and the parts are easy to get a hold of. But in a lot of cars that they're suggested for it makes ZERO sense.

How would an 86 wiuth a 2JZ swap be remotely street legal in Japan? They have stricter automotive laws over there than the US, and I know that set up would not be street legal over here.

Regardless everyone knows that a small block chevy V8 would be a better fit anyway.
