You're making a mountain out of a molehill, it really is no big deal. Like others have said it'd only be a potential warranty issue and only if the dealer cares about it.

As a general rule, you should always speak with the dealer first before asking us for opinion.

Disagree. I kind of enjoy the "Ask for forgiveness instead of asking for permission" rule.

First, you shouldn't be going to your dealer for an oil change...

The problem will come up if/when you ever have warranty issues related to the engine. They can (not saying they will) pull up the fact that you had or have a CAI on your car. This may have some implications regarding the warranty.

I see you are in NY, depending where you should come to us to get your oil changes done. We'll take better car of your car than your dealer ever will.

Also, your stock intake is perfectly fine. There are 100s of threads that explicitly state drop-in filters are the only worthwhile upgrade, and you should be spending your money on other upgrades before a CAI.

If you are going to bring your car to a dealership for service, bring it to a mod friendly dealership. Most dealerships will put a notation on your cars service records in their inter-dealer systems which are accessible by all dealerships and corporate offices of that make ie Subaru dealerships and SOA. Which you can bet they will then try to get out of any warranty issues if you just so happen to have to use your warranty.

I took my street illegally modified BRZ (aftermarket intake and LEDs everywhere) in to a dealership once for an oil change. It immediately spontaneously combusted in the service bay, burning everything they had in the shop and showroom.

I'm not allowed back in that dealership anymore. I can't understand why?
