I get a lot of questions at shows, some good, some really funny...

Isn't this the one with the Porsche motor? - still my personal favorite

I dont get the porsche connection - the garage attendent at my office thought mine was a porsche. And he sees real ones every day, figure he'd know.

I think location has something to do with it, I've already seen 2 other toyobaru's today and I expect to see at least one more tonight before I go to bed, they're not exactly a rarity anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if very soon I see more Toyobaru's in a month than Challengers and Camaros combined.

Yep. Once the 86 showed up more and more around my town. I guess the comments were dispersed evenly .

P.S.
Just saw a guy, looked like he was in his 70s. Driving a red FRS today. Love it.

I've been seeing tons of FRS's lately, no BRZ's though

Guy today goes..

him: "I love the car man! AWD right?"
me: "Nah, rear wheel first one in like 30 years or something"
him: "Oh wow! What engine?"
me: "Just a 2 liter, pretty slow"
him: "2 liter? I've never even heard of an engine that small!"

Me

New intern at work stopped me today too. He's wondering when I'm gonna track it. I'm not sure if I ever will.

5/6 people say my car looks like a Batmobile. I went for a longer drive last weekend and had questions from a guy in an Audi S5, and another later on from someone in an older 911. Get a decent amount of looks too, and I literally don't even have plates on it yet. Really didn't think it'd get this much attention, but I'm sure it'll wear off sooner than later.

I had one guy roll down his windows and ask me questions about the car because he had been thinking about getting one.

For sure. I just moved to Michigan, and it seems like everyone drives either SUVs.. or new Lincoln MKZ's (god damn those things are popular)

so having this little car really stands out here at least

When I go to the Chrysler HQ on occasion where there's SRT8s and sporty cars everywhere, no one looks at my BRZ.

At Solvang, CA today two bikers were behind me at a stoplight. One biker said "I wanna get me one of those" and points to my car.

Had a major slip up today, I'm ashamed

Girl yelled out her window a few times... what sounded like.. "Is this a Veyron?"

And I'm sitting there perplexed.. and I go.. "No way, this car is cheap!"

And she goes.. "Sorry not what I meant!" and sped away

I realized she said "Is this Sylvania?" the town she was near

I was at a car wash.. After cleaning it up, went to their free vacuums. A guy that works there walked up to me and started asking what kind of car it was. He barely spoke English so I don't think he understood that it wasn't some $100k+ car. He even asked if he could take pictures of it.

I've gotten the Porsche question a lot. "That's got a Porsche motor right?!" "Is it fast??" "Looks like a baby Ferrari" "oh wow subaru? Can't beat their all wheel drive, great choice"
I usually just bite my tongue and smile or just say thanks.
Other people that know a thing or two about the car just have told me they love it and it's beautiful. Or they want one. It's flattering and makes me feel like I made a good choice on my first "real" car.
