No, air is coming from the outside via the cowl panel. Just open a window.

Where do you live? I'm looking at temps in 90s/100s and very humid.

I'm sorry but if you're living in LA and are stable enough to have a car like the FR-S, than you have no room to complain about anything.

Noticed this when I got the car, always bothered me. Wind up using re-circulate or close vents.

Not just a firestorm thing, my ravens AC makes your snot into ice sickles on (2). Cars thermo said 93 yesterday as I was leaving work. Turned AC knob all the way to cold, set fan speed to 2. Before I even got out of the parking deck I was seeing my breath.

I will say though, turning the AC off, my car becomes almost instant hot box.

My AC is also very cold, but so was my Jeep way back when it was new. The difference is that the volume of air inside the BRZ is so small that it takes no time at all to cool it down. I usually run it full for a couple of minutes to get to a comfortable temperature, then turn the temp to 68 degrees and turn the fan to the lowest setting.

Thing is 90 degree temps outside around here usually mean decent air temperatures, with the vents on in my other cars the air would be about the same as ambient, in this car it's NOTICEABLY warmer, at least 5 degrees I'd say. Cruising along with the windows down and the fan on you can move your hand between the vent and the open window and feel how much warmer it is, pretty lame when you're used to a nice low fan setting with the windows up on the highway with the AC off. I have to run the A/C anytime it's over 75 degrees, sunny, and too uncomfortable to have the windows down, most of the time it's set to the warm side so I don't freeze.

Not a dealbreaker, just not something most people expect or notice on the test drive.

Edit: My A/C does very well up until about 110 outside, then it starts to struggle unless you're on the freeway.

Atlanta, so I get my share of heat/humidity. I took this shot during 2012.

Yea definitely agree on that one! That's why I need louvers (but not TRD $1000 louvers)!

In the winter I keep the cabin at 19.5 and in the summer, because the A/C blows so cold, I usually have it at 20, and my S/O is keeps hers at maybe 22-23.

Big AC unit + small car interior FTW. Also, I have the 'whiteout' colo(u)r.

High cost of living + Relatively expensive luxury item = somebody who's pretty damn well off considering there are states where the median household income is <$40k. Let alone countries where a significant portion of the population can't read let alone feed themselves.

Saying 'boo-hoo my A/C isn't that great' is pretty inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

Blah blah blah we live in a modern society my products should work etc. etc. It wasn't a commentary on LA as much as a dose of perspective, you can say the same about San Francisco, New York, Chicago etc. etc.

And if a difference of 1.75 MPG is going to break you, why the hell aren't you driving a hybrid or an electric car?

It was 86F/70% RH here yesterday. Windows down feeling fine. Only turned on the AC as I was pulling in to get things prepped for my girlfriend who hasn't adjusted to humidity yet(we moved from the CA high desert where 15% is considered humid).
No, It's 73 outside and the air coming out of the vent is 90.
