thanks for your information.

personally at the moment, i'm more concerned with price and spec. if both are not what i want then i really don't care about cars allocation etc.

Well... actual demand may be generated by providing the Australian general public some pricing! lol

Enough of trying to build up the cars stigma.. .that's already been done (very well I might add) alas they're on the verge of flogging the dead horse.

my cousin worked for Ford Service and parts. Now working for Kia Service and Parts, He told me that when new cars come to Australia they limit the horsepower a little lower then what is being shown on paper. Not sure if it's true or not. He also mentioned the only cars that don't get their power tuned down are emergency vehicles (cops, ambulance, fire brigade...so on) and race cars.

A long time ago when i used to work at a Holden dealership I heard the same thing but it was in relation to the poorer quality fuel we have in Australia, something along the lines of our best premium unleaded is 98 Octane whereas Japan, USA and Europe can get 105 octane.

Also when i used to work for Subaru we used to have the petrol octane discussion regularly and I also heard you can achieve 105 octane with Australian premium unleaded by adding an octane booster though i don't know the specifics and what sort of effect it would have on new car warranty.

I hear ya bud, unfortunately we're just going to have to wait for them to conclude their negotiations with head office before we see concrete info - even the leaked dealer document posted in another thread doesn't have pricing info on it and I have seen the whole document not just what was posted.

Tell ya one thing though, if we had the info in dealerland and were allowed to mention it we would have already done so cos i can't think of a car salesperson offhand who doesn't want to sell more cars lol.

I reckon most of the Toyota exec's themselves can't wait to start talking about the final product for Australia, I can assure you once us car salespeople get the info you might find it hard to stop em' talking, hehe

But in all seriousness guys I personally can't wait to share all the info with you once i receive it.

Ok, so I've been told that my car arrives in Perth on the 11th and will be at the dealers on the 15th!
Looks like I should start looking for some aftermarket goodies!

Apparently I also received an 86 brochure in the mail. (I'm not home for a few days to check this out) Has anyone else got anything like this?

I guess then it may all be dependant on the dealer? Also may depend on release date in your state? This is only speculation on my part. Hopefuly you can get the car earlier and maybe there will be a nation wide release!

Just got a call from my dealer, he said the official release date is the 8/6. Price should be out a day or so before that. He also is under the impression that each dealer will be getting a single car on release date, with more to follow in the months after.
