Don't try to be logical when people are voicing their irrational hatred of things that don't affect them; it never works.

I don't particularly like stance or herrafrush, but some of them can be very well done. For instance, @moomoopanda's car is beautiful, it's just not really my thing. I can still appreciate it though.

It's not dangerous, people just get upset when others do something that they don't like. I don't understand why someone would put a 225 tire on a 10.5" wheel, but that doesn't make them a bad person; it just means they have different goals than I do.

I think I'd blame that on the driver being a douchebag than on the wheel camber. I'll bet I could do that just as well in a bone stock car. I think flipping the van is extra points though.

The "hella flush" guys do not know what "flush" means. Show me one "hella flush" guy who isn't on some retarded camber.

Running that amount of camber on public roads is not safe. I give a f*ck if you think you're the stig. Running that amount of camber lessens linear contact patch. Less tire contact = longer stopping distance.

its all fun and games until your service manger catches you with brake cleaner and a lighter trying to seal the bead on a 225 tire on a 10.5 rim on the tire machine

Most of these weird trends in recent years seem to have originated as jokes in japan, then they get blown out of proportion as more people become aware of them.

For example, drifting is just what kids in japan do for fun, and the whole 'JDM' thing as far as I can tell came from poor kids doing cheap mods on cheap cars. You have to realize an R32 or a 240 in japan is dirt cheap, like under 5 grand. But when people from other countries see what Japanese kids are doing to cars that are very expensive in their countries, they see it as some kind of statement.

It's kinda like if people in Germany started importing 3rd gen camaros and gen 1 V8 heads and cams with a ridiculous markup because it's "USDM".

So the whole herrafrush thing, i'm thinking started when some kid got some cheap 20s and decided he was going to make them fit on an equally cheap kei car. To him it was a joke, to his friends it was a joke, people tried to out-ridiculous each other and eventually the world took notice.

A convincing argument

Wearing your hat sideways doesn't make you a bad person either, it just makes you look stupid.

TL;DR Most of the hellafail crew here knows its dangerous and stupid to run suspension and wheel setups like that but they don't care as long as it looks "ill" when pictured in the parking lot and when out driving recklessly on public roads...

...until shit like this inevitably happens from a severe lack of tire contact and/or lack of suspension travel:

Even still they continue the fad for some unknown reason. There are a few notables here that you can tell love the negative attention.

In before the lock. Let's see how long this thread lasts.
Makes me sad. Another FC down the drain...

Crooked wheels 1/4 covered by a fender is uglier than wheel gap.

this thread is one of the reasons i am beginning to hate the car scene as it is today.

people have no respect for others, and threads like this are a perfect example, you're not enthusiasts anymore.

is my car "hellaflaush"? no... hell i bet you don't even know the difference between the multiple fitment terms...however i can respect what others have done even though its not to my liking. I don't have to cram my views down other peoples throats, at the very most i'll offer some constructive criticism. i can respect the work and time put in to the car. most stance guys i know, that actually have good fitment and not just a stretched tire because they don't know better, actually are some of the better drivers i know, they keep a VERY big following distance and are more aware of the road than others because they are low.

honestly have you seen YOURSELVES, not some videos or internet write ups, of said stanced cars crashing?

that video above is meaningless...because driving like a douche isn't the cause of this...? who knows what the temps were like, is he on summer tires in cold weather? its a video in russia so who knows the conditions. the driver even uttered in russian "are you fucking crazy"

with this platform there have been more crashes with NEWB drivers and people who aren't stanced and on stock wheels/tires than any guys with serious fitment wrecking. that is FACT. how many threads are there of nearly bone stock cars crashed or wrecked due to driver error or someone trying to be cool? hell even some threads of people crashing at no fault of their own but due to the stock tires sucking.

if you are really a car enthusiast, you'll respect what others do, and maybe instead of bashing and starting threads like this you make a post explaining what a contact patch is, how it effect braking and handling, what the proper wheel size is for X width...but why try to educate a community when you can just bash and hate, right?
