Have a few questions i hope avo owners can help me out with.
I'm planning on getting the stage 1 kit for now since i mainly use my frs as dd and 2x a month take it out to mountain passes. My car setup is pretty much stock except i have a perrin drop in and a trd catback. I wonder what cooling mods should i do before or after the avo kit install? Cooling mods like radiator and oil cooler Any particular type of engine oil i should use? Currently I'm using eneos 0w20 with stock filter Thanks |

You should be fine with stock cooling for oil and rad unless you're doing some hardcore tracking. I run motul 300v 0w20 personally but your oil choose is up to you. You'll find widely varying opinions on what to run and what not to run so its hard to decide anything that way

I'm ok with all mechanical stuff like install header, coilovers , brakes, exhaust since i do many by myself
Only down side i dont have a lift so it'll be alittle tougher Also what other options you get with the kit? Bov, gauges etc |

I would actually strongly suggest paying the extra $ to have someone install it for you, that way it's done properly the first time. If you do decide to do it yourself, take your time. I would budget an entire weekend to get it done from beginning to end.

I would also suggest an AFR gauge and a boost gauge. The AEM failsafe has both of those readings in one gauge and you can get a fairly inexpensive gauge pod that will mount it in the drivers side ac vent.

I would definitely take my time to study the install instructions and spent the weekend to make sure everything done right. I never rush any of my installs and i tend to like doing it myself more it not really about the $$ |

I know the upgraded one has a 50% vent to atmosphere which I assumed was mostly for those who want to hear their BOV. Is there another benefit to the upgraded BOV at modest boost levels(stage 1)?
