Exhaust combinations with 3" resonated catback
I've been doing research listening to various clips, reading threads/posts, and researching products. I'm just looking for opinions and input from owners with the Perrin 3" resonated catback. Trying to decide what route to go as far as headers/front pipe/over pipe combo. I want a good mix that keeps the exhaust noise to a minimum. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I'm Stock pre cat. with the Perrin 3" Resonated CBE. Have about 300 miles on the CBE. Its gotten louder as it breaks in. Initially it was deceptively quiet, almost too quiet. Better now, overall very good tone and noise levels. Idles quietly, But gives off just enough rumble to let anyone know that its non stock. Good throaty rumble. I intend to go FI shortly so the headers will be changed out at that point.
No leaks or rattles, install was easy, parts are well designed and all parts are there to make the changeover easy. I made my decision on the Perrin Resonated 3" based partially on research/videos but more so on the advice of several users here that encouraged the larger pipe for FI purposes down the road. If I was going to skip FI and add NA HP I'd have done headers and overpipe as well. I'd encourage you to hear in-person someones install before you pull the trigger no point spending 1k on an exhaust you don't love. Get into your regional forum, find an owner that will meet you, and go hear exhausts live. GL man! |

Thanks for the details but I guess I wasn't clear lol that's my fault. I have the exhaust myself already. Trying to see which other exhaust components to add with it while still keeping the noise down.

JDL 3" OP is good. You can always try a resonated DP from nameless. Headers just depend on whether you want EL or UEL

The nameless down pipe with the helmholtz resonator is looking like a top choice.

With the stock header it was nice. But it just didn't have the sound I wanted, so I bought a cheap borla with the thought that if it was too loud for me then I wasn't out much and I'd resell the header. As it turns out 2.5k and under (cruising speeds) it's quiet like stock. Above that is louder, and at WOT it growls. I love it, just need to upgrade the header to something better quality. |

I run OFH with Perrin 3" CBE. Sounds perfectly tame and is pretty damn amazing with the rumble. If you want to run the 3" with catless headers, it's pretty key to keep the op/dp stock for the same of noise reduction. My friend runs a full 2.5 catless header to 3" behind that. Sounds great but a bit loud for my taste (but he loves it!)
If I had the option to do over, might have been 50/50 about getting the 2.5 instead just to save some cash since there's not too much performance to be gained, particularly with a stock op/fp.
