I just got my Redhead Shorty installed a couple of days ago. It didn't line up correctly with just the included nut though. I finally got it lined up by using a flat washer on the bottom with a lock washer on top. I like this shift knob a lot. It feels great and makes shifting way better.

Dumb question here guys... I like the 86 knob but I have a BRZ. Is it okay to use on a BRZ?? Haha I'd feel stupid having it on my car if it's only a scion/Toyota thing.

I hate to report negative feedback - however - I have sent multiple e-mails to this company requesting information at the following address - bossfloss@theflossysite.com. First one back on 4/26.

No response.

Here is what I am asking - maybe someone else knows?

-------------------------
Yo Flossy -

I am looking to get a Redhead shorty for my BRZ with custom engraving.

Can you give me an idea of how much engraving can be done?

Also - the best format (png, jpg, etc) with size and dpi.

One last thing - A number of people have reported that the knobs don't line up correctly and that they have to add additional nuts/washers etc. Do you have recommendations on what to have available when I get delivery of the shifter? I would rather be prepared and have the right stuff than have to run around looking for items when it gets here.

Thanks a ton!

I just got mine about a week ago after ordering it at the end of February. It took 2 emails for a response. (they said they had issues with the engraving on mine).

I sent my artwork in jpg format. As for the amount of engraving, I am not sure.

The shift knob on mine did not line up straight (it was straight facing the opposite direction strangely enough). I just went to home depot and bought a few washers, screwed down the nut that came with the knob and placed a washer, screwed down the knob to see where it lined up. It took me 2 washers I believe to get it straight, it may take more or less for you.

My issue was the boot since I am an AT and do not have the reverse lockout to hold up the boot.

Thanks for the info. I am going to look around and see if there is another game in town. Their stuff looks awesome but I am having trouble getting over the "customer service".

Teflon tape works well. Works best if done in the cold of winter to get the maximum tightness.

Here is mine.

Engraving didn't line up, but flossy supplied a nut that i used to line it up.

I've had it for over a year now and it still looks great, no fade or wear.

Has anyone had any color come off? I have a black flossy and where they engraved BRZ the black has come off and it is now showing a metal color.

Luckily it matches the silver interior in the BRZ so I'm not too bothered, unless it continues outside of the engraving!

I ordered my red head last week even though I've heard they were a hit or miss. I got mine today and it lined up perfectly. They also responded to my every email. The custom engraving looks much darker on other flossy knobs I've seen though..but it's whatever. I'm happy.
