No, you're not removing the driveshaft. Even if you do, I've *heard* that only a small little bit comes out of the tail section - though that rear seal CAN be damaged so be careful. Either way there's no reason to remove the driveshaft entirely with this mod.

Check the Kartboy DIY...it's informative and the kit you bought comes with instructions that are readily adaptable to the Kartboy DIY. There's almost nothing to this install compared to replacing the lever on an actual shifter kit. |

I did my install without a lift, just using two factory jacks most cars come with. The only problem one may face when doing the install is that without the recommended 8" and 3" extenders, those bolts for the rear bracket will be difficult to reach...

I used my uncle's lift to do the install. I'd be happy to do a video walkthrough, but it's so easy to install, nobody is going to need this. Seriously, this is on par with an oil change or rotating your tires.

I installed the quick shifter tonight. A WORD OF WARNING! If anyone has an aluminum drive shaft this will not work with it! The drive shaft has a slightly larger diameter and will rub the shifter linkage. I found out the hard way, fortunately I didn't break anything when I tried to drive off.
Aside from that the shifter is incredibly short. This is in my top 5 mods to my car I think, and I've done maybe 40 mods so far. Selling my aluminum drive shaft now since it's not compatible for $425 for anyone willing to pick it up from me. Not willing to ship. Install was super easy (not counting the drive shaft issue). I already have the Perrin rear shift bushing so I skipped that part. Since I didn't do that part I didn't need to undo anything with the drive shaft or any other parts. Just unpin the shifter, remove the boot, install new boot, install the extender thing, put pin back in, put boot over new goodies. Would have been a 30min job (15mins jacking up the jack and getting ready), if it weren't for my aluminum drive shaft. Took 2 hours instead.
