Hello peeps....Im Tawaun i live in the Lakewood/Long Beach Cali area....i've been following this forum for a few years i really really like this car. In October i bought a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Rspec Coupe....and i kept it for almost 90 days...Hyundai gives you 90 days to see if you want a car. The car had a lot of pluses but a bunch of minus's to and maybe a few weeks after i had it i found out that the 2013's were coming out with vast improvements, so that didnt help its cause...im not gonna knock the car or bash it i dont do that, but in any event i returned it and got my downpayment money back.
The cars that were on my mind once i regrouped were the:used c5 & C6 Z06, Mustang,WRX,Camaro,MX-5,Used S2000,used NSX,used e46,Genesis Rspec 2.0t,Mini Cooper S,GTI,FRS/BRZ,Fiat 500 Abarth,Veloster Turbo,Volvo C30,and the cheap last minute darhorse the Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo. To make a long story short various things weedid down the competition Price, loans on the used cars, weight, lack of boost on small motors, tunability, gas milege, and the biggest availability in all aspects. The FRS/BRZ,500 Abarth,2013 Genesis Rspec 2.0t,Mustang,Veloster Turbo,WRX,and the Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo were the 1's that made the last cut. The others that i just mentioned have a i want it Hoopla going around it like i've never seen for new cars to hit the market especially the FRS/BRZ....and i guess around January i threw in the towel i realized that availabilty on this car would be slim on this new car for the 2012 year ditto for the 500 Abarth...somewhat the others to but no to the degree of these cars...so i broke it down to the most unlikely canidate...The Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo...by far the cheapest of the bunch and the most fuel efficent. Now unlike others on here i dont have a prefference for drivetrain i like RWD,AWD,and FRD equally. The FRS/BRZ was 1st on my list but the wait made me think about a few things...i will revisit this car when and if it has a turbo in the future.Im gonna stick around i really like this forum and the passion for this vehicle...and look foward to meeting and cruising with you guys... |

Sup everyone. Name's Layzee (not my real name of course :P) and I'm 18, currently driving n '05 Sunfire. Not the best car in the world but I didn't really know anything about cars (or was into them) until after I got it and realized how many better options there was.
Anyways, fell in love with the 86/BRZ a while ago after seeing posts about it in different blogs, just such an awesome car. Can't get one now, but definitely will get one in the future.

Good news, everyone!
You have a new member. I am 24 and from Atlanta. Been reading forum for a few months, finally decided to join. Last month put a deposit on BRZ, wanted to put one on FRS as well, but it looks like Scion haven't started any official pre-orders yet. Toyobaru is going to be my first car purchase made 100% on my own. So I'm doing all possible research on the car to make sure that I'm not just a victim of extensive PR campaign about an overhyped vehicle. FT86club was increadibly helpfull with this, so I decided to join you !!

Hi!
I have ordered a WRB BRZ Ltd MT with most options checked from Subaru West Houston. No. 4 out of 10 cars from this dealer in 2012. I will bring it home to Norway next summer with a few upgrades.

New member (though I've been lurking for a few months before registering today) from SoCal. I currently have a 2006 Evo IX SE that I've been privileged to enjoy on a daily basis since I bought it brand new, but I'm very intrigued by this car, more so the BRZ (for reasons I posted in the insurance thread in the BRZ sub forum.
While I love horsepower, I'm well aware of the fact that it's hard to truly exploit it once you get to a certain point. So while I've been accustomed to a pretty potent car as my daily driver, I think I would have a lot of fun with an FR-S/BRZ and probably get more opportunities to flex with it. |
