The dealer I got my BRZ from had 3 BRZs in stock, he had them there for over 6 months and it was about to get snowy. This dealer is in an area with low population and should have never ordered that many BRZs.

So I knew I had good leverage to get a good deal on a 2013 right before winter hit, I saw my car in May and ended up buying it in November. Didn't need a car until December, so being patient saved me a bunch of cash.

I don't think the same situation would have occurred at the Scion dealership, and I wasn't trading anything in so I expect they would have enforced the no negotiation policy. With Subaru financing me at 0.9%, I think a base model FRS would have cost me more than my Limited.

Also, World Rally Blue.

FRS has no heated seats, and the ones that come dual zone climate control are priced higher and with less equipment than a fully loaded BRZ at least around here.

My brand loyalty got the best of me... Toyota.

In hindsight, I should've gotten the BRZ. The extra $1200 or whatever is worth the OEM quality HID headlights (brz headlights look the best too), slightly upscale interior compared to the FRS, and having the opportunity to choose the best color of all brz/frs/gt86, world rally blue.

Brz limited is my choice:
Values
Color of choice WRB
IMO BRZ is better style, front, rear and all around.
Better equipped : heated leather seats, push button start, wireless key, rear spoiler, navi head unit, even though is not a great unit, but it's come as standard equipped,
Like the STI options available , but not cheap$$$$$...

Having owned a WRB WRX STI , I wanted to keep the same color. Also, The first of these cars I sat in was a 13 BRZ Limited. After sitting in that car I appreciated that interior so much more then any FRS I cam across (Little deatails, Like the HVAC, Alcantara...etc). So, when the time came I got myself a 13' WRB Limited.

Lol, lots of WRB fans here, and that speaks against the FRS. Of course, who would want to own a WRB Toyota? :-)

I actually respect the Toyota brand quite a bit, but after 14 years with a Lexus, wanted to try a Subie.

-Brand, didn't want to have a Scion
-Keyless start/entry
-OEM HID (one of the bigger reasons, I couldn't go back to halogen)
-Heated seats
-Automatic climate control
-Interior
-Didn't want to regret being cheap and not having the loaded goodies.

Doing the math, you are already spending ~$25k on a car, for the extra ~$1200 it's crazy not to get the loaded model.

The only thing I like a little better is the front bumper on the FRS, but it's not enough to sway my purchase choice.

Yep, my buddy has a Focus ST in WRB (or Fords equivalent color) with bronze wheels.
Looks great, but sorry WRB/bronze rims is a Subaru thing.

I prefer the Toyota (Scion) brand over Subaru.

The Subaru had some nice features in stock trim that I would have liked but I felt I would change most of them anyway, so it didn't have much bearing on my decision.

Although, resale from the available factory options makes me think the BRZ will keep a bit better.

But the other problem was the BRZ was at least a 3 month wait and I basically had to buy it without driving it. I found a red FRS within 50 miles of me and could touch it, feel it, and experience it. Then I bought it without any wait.

I suppose I could sum it up to instant gratification.

Price. Wanted a '15 FRS because I liked the front end better, but got a '14 Limited BRZ for cheaper because of Scions dumb pure price policy. Soooo glad I got the BRZ. Like the "mouth guard" way better than the "fangs" now and HID headlights are a must. And probably the best feature of all, the auto dimming mirror. I cant count how many times I would of been blinded by the car behind me without it, especially because how low the car sits.

Two lone features: HIDs and push button. The Alcantara is definitely nice and the fogs too. One thing I'm not a fan of is this damn spoiler though >,>.

Because the extra stuff you get with the BRZ is a bargain for the small premium. I prefer the BRZ spoiler hands down, and WRB is the best color.
