Is this an automatic? My manual is doing 3k r/min at 70-ish mph.

Yes. You can see the "D" indicator on the bottom display.

I had a come race me bro encounter on my way home from work less than an hour ago. Some dude bro in his s2k and his gf/wife kept revving me and finally sped off with the most obnoxious sounding exhaust ever. I am just glad we (at least for me) don't have every last swinging **** trying to race here in Austin. I get a lot of thumbs up though!

It's one of those days. I was going back home heading east on 45 from the Drafthouse at Lakeline. I saw something coming up fast in my rearview mirror. The kids in the car must have been doing about 120 - instead of the left lane they were in the center lane and left barely a car length when they swerved around me to the left lane. I cut to the right lane just in case. I wish I could have called in their plate but I wasn't going to be crazy and chase them down at that speed on a public road. I'm just glad our cars can do an almost instant lane change going 75!

Also - is that the white one that's slammed really low? I see one on my in to work heading south on Mopac - they apparently don't have any gears above third by the sound of the thing. I'm pretty sure you don't have to have the VTEC kick in to keep up in 20mph traffic.....

It was already night, but I thought it was silver, could have been white though. I don't think it was slammed though. He spent like a minute trying to get my attention and finally he just floored it and it sounded like a hive of angry bees.

I see that one all the time and sometime a chick is driving it. I went to PTerry's yesterday for dinner and I saw people racing all over the place. Veloster turbo vs Lancer (non Evo). Not even 5 minutes later, my old car I had before the FR-S, a 2002 SS Camaro pulled out onto Mcneil and Mopac service road from a U-Turn and pulled up next to me revving and blew out my ear drums. Sounded exactly like mine and I sure as hell wasn't racing. I know how fast that car is and it has more torque than it does horsepower in the LS-1.

Here is my car a few months after I sold it to the next owner who dyno'd it. Sounded exactly the same as the guy who revved at me in his midnight blue one.

Gotta be an auto with that D. Auto has longer gears than a manual. I'm at almost 4k at 90 mph. This is also why the manual is faster with the 4.10 gears.

I can confirm that around 85-90 mph I'm at 4k RPM.
