Do you clear the avg reading every fill-up?

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

Sounds about right, but in my experience the light comes on around 1.75-2 gallons left

about an hour on the highway

Tank capacity is 13.2 gallons. When I fuel up after a few miles after the light, I'm between 10 & 11 gallons to fill the tank. If I wait about 20-30 miles, it's about 11.3-11.7 gallons to fill the tank.

Thus why I estimate the light comes on with 3 gallons left. Also remember the hump in the fuel tank. One side may have 1.5 gallons left, thus triggering the floater switch, but en toto, gas remaining is 3 gallons.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

Commute to work 11 days a month is about 2 miles each way. I have almost had the car for one year and just hit 3k on the odo. All the other miles have been recreational in nature. MPG is @ 23-27. Taking a trip to NYC later this summer from Chicago. Curious to see what it will be on the 800+ mile trip.

That's because you're doing it right.

I get around 23-24 mpg myself.

On my mixed commute (70% Highway, 30% city) I am getting a consistent 28-29 MPG. Have seen a best of 33 on the highway.
