try getting quotes for rx8, shouldn't be more than 10-15% more than that.

Yep, that's comprehensive. I forget what deductible that's at.

Given that I've never had my name solely on a policy, one would hope that after a period it would drop.

this made me curious, so I called my insurance company just now and they quoted me $25 more per month than my existing policy assuming no changes to service. this is all ofcourse based on the limited features of the car that they know of because no VIN's are available.

if you're going from a medium size sedan, expect about a $300 hike going down to a coupe RWD.

Try using a GC as a reference since it's FR

I'm too lazy to search for it, but wasn't there a picture that was put up a few days ago of a WRB BRZ which showed the location of the VIN stickers (trunk, door jambs, etc.)?

Yes, but those are pre-production VINs. Not production.

Going from my high theft target cars I'd be shocked if it increases at all.

Insurance companies make no sense. I was looking at a C5 Z06 and a C6 Z51 pkg. the 2002 Z06 was 1500 every 6 months while the 2007 C6 Z51 was only $1200. I called to just check out the BRZ and the lady asked for something similar so I told her a Genesis Coupe and they wanted $3000 for 6 months!! I'm 24 with 1 accident 3.5 years ago (wasn't my fault.) My G8 GT costs me $1700 every 6 months and I live in Queens, NY. Worst insurance rates in the country.

Actuarial science is a complicated field and will always favor the house. Part of it involves past claims/payouts for the same car, cost to repair, driver's history (accidents, tickets...etc.), car demographics, location of car, miles driven per year and theft rates.
