Request for car comparison - windshield alignment

I recently had my windshield replaced, and I noticed that the right side of the windshield (when sitting inside the car) is a little lower than the left. I brought this up to the repairer, and he claims that this is normal on the FR-S because of the molding. Can someone do me the favor of checking if that's true and whether your windshield level is even on both sides? I checked mine by measuring the gap between the windshield and the roof panel and also could even just eyeball it by standing in front of the car. Thanks!

That guy is full of shit. I just looked at mine, and it's perfectly level with a perfectly uniform gap all the way across. Make him fix it. If he won't play ball, get someone else to fix it and sue him in small claims court for a refund on his work.

Thanks, extrashaky. The guy did offer to fix it at least. I'm going to give them a chance to make it right.

That's a good thought and worth a try. However, you won't always win a credit card dispute. Depending on the bank, they may deny the claim because they don't always guarantee the quality of the service received.

I had a situation where I checked into a rather cheap motel, and when I got to the room, it was unlivable. I immediately went back to the office and told them I wasn't staying. They charged my card anyway.

When I disputed it, the claim was denied. The customer disservice person who handled my claim told me that I paid for the service, but not the quality of the service, and since the room was available to me I got what I paid for. She said that I would only have prevailed in my claim if the room was not available at all.

So there's a chance here that if he were to dispute the credit card charge, the CC company may say that he received the service and had to pay for it, even if the work was shoddy. It's definitely worth a try, but he might end up going to small claims court anyway.

That's actually what the customer disservice person told me to do, until I threatened to cancel the card. Then she said that because I had been their customer for almost 20 years, they would just refund the charge and eat the cost themselves to keep my business. But that was only about $50 they lost. I'm not sure they would do that if it were much more than that.

Edit: This was Citibank, if anybody is interested.

That's good. He knows he's wrong. He was just bullshitting you to try to avoid doing it over.

that's total BS. windshields come from the factory with the adhesives applied by robot and installed by robot. same spot, same amount of of adhesive, and same amount of pressure every single time. glass installers cant be lazy now a days especially with newer cars that have exposed glass edges with no windshield seals.
