Some of you aren't getting the point, but what Turbo95eg6 says puts to point why canu would stop selling these wheels; that is, he only want to sell a quality product.

I'd be upset whether I spent $500 or $5,000 on a set of wheels. My money is my money, and if I'm exchanging it for something it that means something. To receive and incomplete product when I expect one that is completed isn't going to sit well with me.

Canu seems to understand this is what customers expect. Knowing he'd puts pride in what he sells would be reason for me to go to him again. If he was lackadaisical about this, I would find someone who cared.

Looks like you posted pictures of the 3 that "weren't painted"

Can you post up the 4th that was painted? They look like they were painted that way by design.

Edit: To be clear I don't begrudge what you're doing, it is just difficult to see the 'flaw' that you are having trouble getting over. Based on those three pictures I would say that's the way the wheels were manufactured. It also sounds like you're not having problems with Enkei but rather TireRack, Enkei seems fully accepting of your grievance and willing to warranty the wheels.

FWIW my RSM9 Enkei racing series wheels ($440@) are properly painted. They were ordered and delivered last month.

what is your idea of NOT "cheap generic wheels" and what would be the price differential? Got any specifics?

Why did you go with a Tirerack dealer that appears to be so far from you?

Going forward I would, as a dealer when ordering any brand of wheels, specify that you would not accept any wheels that are not painted in the lug bolt area -- Or inspect them yourself -- OR go to DISCOUNT TIRE.

As STRAT61CASTER suggests: " Can you post up the 4th that was painted? They look like they were painted that way by design."

I think the other thing is if you're a dealer and going to be selling wheels - why not have an enkei account of your own? This is a problem with being a middle man. If you had an enkei account and they were willing to be helpful then you'd deal directly with them. Instead, you're basically treated like an end user and are stuck with the customer service of the middle man between you and enkei.

Up here in canada, we don't have the population, neither the season for multiple shop to buy from Enkei direct, we cannot open 50 000$ a year account, It is also cheaper to buy from a wholesaler with the discount Enkei gives.

This is business mathematic, with the calculation of the import fees and others. We are a very reputable garage that works on high end car. I don't have the room, neither the vocation to be a distributor. I buy parts at the right price to install it and make my customer happy!

As for the 4th wheel, it was sent back to Enkei with the 3 other one! I will get this one back at the same time, meanwhile:

Sorry, I still don't see the 'defect'. I find it funny you took pictures of 3/4 of the wheels but not the odd one out.

Best of luck in your dispute.

This i have to admit is my error. Picture where taken on the car. the paint missing is where the lug holes are. You say the unpainted part contrast with the black wheel.

To be honest, i dont see much wrong with the rim. I have had 2 sets of enkeis on different cars and they are super strong and light. Not to mention reasonably priced. They dont have the "issue" you describe here

However its your right as a customer to do as you will if you are not satisfied

I can see why OP would be upset about customers possibly not being satisfied. But, judging by the pictures it does not seem to be a big deal at all to me. I can't imagine that being at all noticeable once the lug nuts are installed. Not to mention the paint there would likely get scratched up after mounting them a few times anyway.

Even by enthusiast's standards I'd say I'm pretty anal about these kinds of things, and this probably wouldn't bother me. Maybe it looks worse in person...

I've been a big fan of the RPF1 wheels, and NTO3 wheels for some time (I've owned several sets) and I can say that in my experience, Enkei can sometimes skimp in the paint department.

It's never really bothered me TOO much, but even on my most recent set of gold RPF1 wheels it looks like JUST the face was painted without too much attention to the rest of the wheel and they tend to chip like crazy.

For fairly light, fairly strong wheels and such a great price, it's really hard to complain about something that's been pretty subtle.
