On the our forums via searching, someone weighed in the drivers side seat as 43.6lb and the cusco bride zeta iii carbon back via searching online is 15lbs and I'd assume the rails are about 5 to 10lbs if that.

Did you ever try the normal size Zeta III? Wondering about the difference in hip width between the normal and the Type L.

I actually did. For me, being 6'3" and being 170 with a 34 waist, the normal one was way to tight. The L was absolutely perfect in terms of height for shoulders, back portion for my head, and the width. The normal was too small in all areas. The Xl was way too big haha

I've had both the regular Zeta III (FIA-spec) and Zeta III Type-L, and for my frame (5'9" 170lbs) the regular Z-III fits well with a racing suit (i.e. no jeans/belt), and the Type-L works great for every other purpose.

For daily use, get a Type-L if you're considering a Zeta III.

For most tall people the L will be better as the shoulder bolsters are in the proper position relative to your torso length.

Hmm interesting. The outside difference is only 5mm, I wonder if the leg bolsters on the Type L are thinner, thus making the inside difference bigger than 5mm.

I'm 6'1 175 with a 34" waist, so very similar to OP. Tried a normal Zeta III the other day, fit nicely overall but too tight in the hips, to the point where it would probably be painful after an extended drive. Seriously interested in the Type L but no one has one in the NorthEast.

OP, just curious, have you done longer drives in these? And have you ever sat in a Recaro SPG (Profi)? It fits similar to the normal size Zeta III, probably a touch wider in the hips, but not enough for me.

Ah ok! Well honestly, farthest driving I've done is two hours and that's with spirited involved. It's very comfortable and to be quite honest my back pains are now gone w this seat. These were my first choice and luckily me last choice

Any pictures of this?

The only 2 ready to go options I know is buying either the TRD seat rail and the ASM Recaro seat rail. Both are expensive

Sorry no pics. But very easy to install just splice and that's it. Takes a minute. Literally

I'm 6', 34w, 175-ish, and I run a Type XL in my other car. Perfect size for me. Holds tight in corners, but allows enough "breathing" room. I've done more 5+ hour trips in that seat than I can count and never been uncomfortable. I've even been able to nap in the seat. I'd be worried to use anything smaller.

interesting thread. I have had the zeta 3 carbon in my car for about 2.5 years. Im 6'4 175ish and i got the regular. its flexed out more then my passenger seat since I'm in it everyday. I am gonna have to try the front up and rear down to see if the driving position is any better. it is a little difficult to get out when i can't open the door all the way or just cuz I'm tall. but you can't beat the driving feel while you are in them. any time i temporarily put my stock seats in i feel a big difference. I know my rails are different because they are the one piece not separate. so maybe your rails allow it to sit lower.

i may swap my driver and pass seat so i can stretch out the passenger seat. so my passengers don't hate it so much.

that rear seat delete looks gorgeous with the carbon front seats!!!
