Sad to hear, RIP

User Manual clearly states never use spare on Rear wheels, if u get a rear flat, move one front to rear and then put spare donut on front, i.e. 2 changes.

Put the spare on the front first. Now jack up the rear and replace the flat rear tire with the good factory front.

Yeah, I didn't know as well, and I thought I had read the entire manual. Guess I need to brush up on my reading skills. Spreading this knowledge for those who don't know is a very good thing.

Especially those of us who aren't mechanically inclined when it comes to cars.

yea frankly I didn't notice this when I first went thru the manual either. Only noticed it when I was reading the tire change section in extra detail when I swapped my summer tires for winter ones.

OTH, the FR-S seems to do a good job of protecting the occupants. This is the first fatality I've read about here. Could be others, tho.
