Forget that, Japan alone can be quite confusing. They're quite strict.

Europe is a lot like the US. Some places care, others can't give a fuck.

CA is the worst.

this header will not past a visual inspection.

There's not a lot of info on this forum about passing emissions with a full exhaust system, but yet again there aren't many states that require it.

I'm not a big fan of changing whole exhausts over night just to pass a test...
In PR, you just have to know where to go... lol

Been running my BMWcatless for years now

I think its just that the car is so new, not a lot of people are having to do emissions testing, with the exception of out-of-state re-registrations.

Having to replace whole exhausts is, and will be, a pain for us Californians

Hopefully, by the time we will have to smog our cars, the OBDII check (vs. visual+sniffer test) would be more of the norm. Currently, it is more of an option for shops than a requirement. Since most shops already have the sniffer equipment, they are still stuck on using the old regulations

Say if I register my car under my brother or father's name in a state with no emissions tests and I have to move to Cali for work. Would I be able to keep my car there without running into emission problems?

Im pretty sure here in NY you just have to make sure you have no CELs. My SRT-4 is a straight pipe from the turbo back but my Mopar Stage 1 ecu keeps the CEL from coming on and I pass no with no issues.

Haha yep. I had a feeling I was going to be the first one to get it. It's definitely a nice little touch.

From what I've heard is cars that are year 2000 and newer will get the new test, which is just visual and OBII check(Some places will only do a OBII check) older cars will still be put on the rollers. Test only stations will go away for newly named stricter test facility's. Cars that have a history for failing will be sent to these places. California rushed to put these new laws into effect and most smog shops are not ready both equipment and personnel wise so things will probably still be done the old way for awhile. Those of us who bought it new don't have to worry about smog for 5 years though, unless of course you get sent by a cop to the state ref...

Not to knock the emblem, it may look nice -- but I really am happy that FT86SF is able to allow me to opt out from this emblem thing.

If it was any other reason other than emissions and visuals i would definitely sport it.

The less noticeable mods the better it is for us who buy these to pass smog.

CA smog testing is just bureaucratic non-sense. The fail rate is so high that you have to try in order to fail. It's just $$$ int pockets from what I've seen and understood.

Also is there a way to get it without the stamp for a more discreet look... that's one of the things i like about the original design...
