I know nothing...
Hey all, so I know absolutely nothing about how to work on cars or how anything works other than the engine. Exhaust is a completely new realm for me and eventually looking at installing a full system. For now I am looking at starting with the Top Speed Over pipe + Down pipe, now like i said I plan on doing a full system eventually and know absolutely nothing, will these eventually be obsolete if I get a catback or axel back later on down the road or are these entirely separate pieces?

Well, chc36, I'd suggest you go here and read up a bit.
http://shop.namelessperformance.com/2013-fr-s/ You can shop till you run out of money. If you're looking for power gains, start with the exhaust manifold and open things up as you work back. If you're just looking for a more "sports car" sound, I would recommend the axle back exhaust with 2.5" piping and 5" mufflers (page 2). humfrz |

@chc36 Study that diagram and crawl under the car. You'll understand the rest of the question you may have. Exhaust system is not complicated at all. All held by bolts and hangers.

Hey chc36,
It is great that you are asking for advice but in future you might like to title your thread something like "Advice on exhaust system wanted" as opposed to "I know nothing". Just about every thread here is about people looking for information and your existing title gives no indication of what the thread is about. Don't stop asking questions!

The car gets loud quickly with exhaust modifications btw. You really cant get "too big" of a muffler. If its not a large 1, you might as well just stop at the axleback because any further up starts to sound like shit or is too loud for a DD. Just food for thought, youll thank yourself getting bigger mufflers especially if you want to go catless or get new headers
