Plan ahead when burning corn...

I had planned on going to my one and only local food-for-fuel outlet but had to go somewhere else on an unplanned trip (yer welcome, ****head). If the OFT was not in the car, I would have had to go about 60 miles running the E85 tune with regular gas.

Or you could just have switchable maps with Ecutek. Pretty sure every tuning solution has switchable maps, no?

Cute.

Can we keep that nonsense out of the forums please. Surely I can't be the only one who is tired of that pissing contest.

Cute? I mean it seems a lot more convenient to switch in car without having to plug in the tablet and flash a different tune on the spot

I can't help but notice you represent Delicious. My point was plan ahead, regardless.

So you're upset someone is pointing out the limitations/strengths of a tuning solution on a post that doesn't really have a point in the first place? Also note he was asking a question about whether OFT had the ability to switch maps for different fuels.
To the OP that is a disadvantage of not having the ability to switch maps on the fly or a flex fuel option. Glad you had the ability to reflash as running pump gas on a E85 tune would have been not so fun. Another super low tech option is to keep a gas can in the trunk with E85 for just the occasion.

Another option, if you know you will run low on fuel, and don't have your phone to search for e85 stations, put about 1/4 of your remaining fuel worth of pump gas to stretch it out a little. Your ltft will adjust accordingly.

Still, a limitation of oft i suppose. I ran switchable maps until I switched to Flex Fuel. Is that an OFT option?

I wish I didn't have to drive all the way in to Portland to get some e85 goodness. Been wanting to give the OFT e85 tune a try but it's such an inconvenience.

IMO this is bad case for switchable maps. The proper solution is flex fuel so you don't have to worry about ethanol content at all.

Keep the tank as full as possible at all times, much better due to ethanol's properties anyways.

In any case, it was a simple question. I was tuned by Delicious, I'm not coming into your thread regurgitating praises of his tuning into your mouth. I do see not having switchable maps as a big disadvantage, and that lies within the tuning platform, not the tuner. On top of that, I know Ecutek has flex fuel capability. I'm not well versed in the tablet tunes, can those do flex fuel as well?

How much did you pay for your unit? How much is flex fuel kit? How many different tunes have you run and how much are you charged for each different tune?
