Yea, sorry, I guess it is not technically a faux-shifter. I just meant that at first glance you can't tell its not a manual.

I never think of an automatic gear selector as a shifter.

I would assume that any photos that are showing up on the Scion website now are of what will be delivered, unless it has a footnote denoting a pre-production model or european model, etc.

Based on that, I would assume the bespoke is not standard as that radio in the photo is definitely not a bespoke unite.

I agree that all of the public information suggests that the "Pioneer 300W" stereo is standard equipment, and the "Pioneer Premium" model is sold at additional cost, just like the other Scion cars. So far that's the best picture I've seen to show the grille for the 4 speakers in the dash.

I don't know if anyone has noted it yet, but it looks like the BRZ has automatic headlights and the FR-S probably does not have automatic lights. Subaru places the automatic lights setting below the sidemarker setting, and it appears in the BRZ manual. I'm sure some will defend such cost-cutting, although the cheapest Camaro had the feature 15 years ago. Oh well, at least they didn't use a vinyl steering wheel like the base Mustang and 2012 Impreza.

Auto headlights missing? Could not care less, as long as there is some auto-cutoff or at least a warning so you don't accidentally leave your lights on when you lock up the car.

If the auto is like the Lexus you can use the paddles and the shifter to change gears. The Scion FRS website shows the auto with D(Drive) & M (manual)

It looks like Subaru parts, so the lights probably shut off when the key is removed.

All new cars have DRL's but the FR-S has the old cheap halogen bulb DRL's...but you can always replace them with some LED bulbs.

IIRC, it's not an issue as long as the brake is applied first. Braking after throttle application will ignore throttle inputs, but throttle application after braking is OK

I was worried about the same thing in my IS when the dealer did the software update during the whole recall fuss.

First thing I would do to this car is disable the DRL. So lame.
